  • Star Wars: A Musical Journey

Movie Buzz “Star Wars: A Musical Journey” will hit the London stage next year. No, really. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, singing Wookies, and a Stormtrooper kick line are all involved. The live musical performance will be coordinated with clips from the movies, so this is basically like Star Wars meets the Rocky Horror Picture Show, on purpose.

  • Video: Young Sarah Silverman

Sarah Silverman was bamboozled by boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel with video footage of her singing awful musical theater on TV as a child. They also talked about if they hooked up with other people during their “break.” So, you know, the usual banter.

  • Video: Corndy!

The Apple Sisters, a 1940’s-era musical sketch group based in New York, love them some corn! (Because it tastes like candy!) One thing I can now cross off my bucket list: seeing a trio of young ladies showering each other in niblets.

  • New Old Gay

Culture Buzz According to a new piece in the trend-hungry New York Observer, reactionary young gay men are intentionally adopting traits of their flaboyant forefathers. Trading indie rock and seedy dives for torch songs and piano bars, these fellas are making “old gay” new again. Not to get all “cultural theorist” here, but is it really possible to now reposition the same things that historically isolated men as now being semi-ironic? So what if a gay guy likes Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Malkmus? Ugh, I need a boyfriend. Can someone write a trend piece about that?
