    1. A Satisfyer air-pulse vibrator dressed up all cute like a penguin. Don't be fooled by the toyetic appearance, however, because this thing has serious power. Reviewers swear this will take you from zero to 100 in no time flat.,

    It's waterproof and rechargable.

Promising review: "I started from non-aroused, nothing special happening physically or mentally or imaginatively. Just got comfortable and followed the instructions. And oh my, we are talking a single minute or less and I soaked my sheets! Now, that in itself has never happened to me before, let alone mere seconds from nothing to eruption! I was scared, amazed, flabbergasted; just completely SHOOK. It's worth every single cent. You will not regret purchasing this! Only suggestion I have is that you invest in a good mattress protector if you don't already have one." —M.

    2. A spot-vibrator with a diminutive-yet-punishing set of just-right-sized silicone heads to deliver intensely-focused good vibes wherever you need them. The thin silicone wand at the end is about 2 inches long, the heads are both around 1/4-inch wide, and thankfully the speeds are adjustable because reviewers say full-bore can be a lot to handle just-out-the-gate.

    A reviewer holds the toy

Promising review: "Holy tacos is this toy amazing! I’m honestly a bit speechless. It was delivered today and I tried it out as soon as I opened the package. There are SO many vibration settings, and they are all wonderful. It comes with both the V-shaped cover and a circled silicone cover to go over the little vibrating head. I sat it right on my clit and it did its job. I am currently recovering from the (absolutely incredible) damage that’s it’s done, as I type this. I recommend this toy %10000. BUY IT NOW!" —Tiny Chubbs

    3. A Wartenberg pinwheel to get yourself and/or partner all on pins and needles, gently and with phenomenal control. Reviewers like this little wonder because the big-A is selling them at a great price, and the quality is consistent and reliable. Yes I have it, I've used it, and it's just as good as everyone says.

    The silver-colored wheel and handle

So, I like pain. A lot. Not being in pain, per se, but I've got a wicked dissociative disorder from years of being a trans person in an unforgiving world; I'm so numb most of the time that just to feel something, consensually and affirmingly, is positively exhilarating. Especially as I was first experimenting with masochism, finding things that can give me the sensation I need without also hurting me in a way that gets in the way of the fun was a huge challenge. A pinwheel like this is great for that purpose, because the pinpricks it unrolls set a nice balance between "ooh!" and "ouch!" which you or whomever else is driving it can moderate easily by pressing in harder or less, going faster or slower, et cetera. Also, out of an interest for my own autonomy, I love that it's a pretty fast break-in period with folks who are new to using it, so even novice partners can deliver the shudders without much practice. I should be able to indulge as much as I want safely even if other parties are inexperienced. Also, it's not total junk, which these things often are. Buy it now!

Promising review: "The Grafco brand Wartenberg Pinwheel provides a pins-and-needles sensation when rolled across the skin, and has been great for sensory play. The pinwheel I received had no bent or blunt pins; all were straight and delightfully sharp. I haven't experienced any squeaking of the wheel while using it; the wheel rolls smoothly, if slightly wobbly at times. It has a decent weight to it, and works well without applying any additional pressure. Using it is a fun time, especially in conjunction with some restraints and a blindfold. I'm very happy with my purchase." —Jeremy L.

    4. A silicone ring that's got 12 smooth-vibrating speeds and is both rechargeable and waterproof so you and yours can enjoy it anywhere with easy access to a USB port.

A reviewer holds the purple vibrator and with white USB charging cord plugged into it

I can personally attest it's just as versatile as I am. I particularly appreciate that I can use it underwater and can charge it easily from my car, laptop, or battery pack, so it's always good to go no matter where I'm taking it. (Sorry/not sorry about the double entendre.)

It has multiple vibration speeds/styles which are super fun to play around with It's rechargeable and easy to charge. It is a lot of fun. The small size allows this to be taken anywhere. 5. A discreet, quiet, wearable, remote-control vibrator that reviewers gush over (and as a result of) because it's remarkably powerful for something you can barely hear, and the silky-smooth silicone rubs folks in just the right way.

Reviewer's picture of the vibrator and remote in their travel pouch

Promising review: "I bought this product as a surprise gift for my parther as we had talked about using a toy that I could control remotely and would allow us to indulge in some private fun outside the house. We practiced with it in our lounge one evening. As other reviewers have said, the toy itself was fantastic and after slipping it inside a pair of their own unders, my partner was soon on the way to a very intense and satisfying orgasm whilst I controlled the vibrations with the remote. The device is very discreet and quiet enough to be used in a public place without anyone realizing what is going on. Our experiment at home has given us the confidence to take it outside the house — something we are very much looking forward to." —Greg

    6. A Satisfyer wand with a unique two-sided claw-and-shaft shape plus rotating head that can be used inside and out for an explosive good time for just you ~or~ you and a partner.

A reviewer holds the blue toy

Promising review: "The versatility is unmatched. The prongs and shaft allow it to provide many variations for people of different needs. Unlike the wand which may be overwhelmingly powerful for some, this product on its lowest level wasn’t overpowering. 7. A rose quartz dildo about the size of your middle finger for folks in search of good vibes without jarring vibrations. And, honestly, it's gorgeous!

    8. A small metal butt plug butt-novice reviewers loved for making introductory anal play much more accessible for them. And, like all metal butt plugs, it's temperature-sensitive (try warming it first — yum!) and super-easy to clean.

The silver butt plug with red stone detail

I'm a big fan of all things butt stuff, and I can tell you metal is definitely the way to go when you're starting out. They're easy to work with, and being able to play with temperature gives you a truly titivating venue for sensorial exploration gentler but still just as exciting as stretching, stuffing, and pounding (don't worry, you'll get there soon enough!).

Promising review: "Super comfortable! This is my first plug and I'm pretty happy with everything. Extremely comfortable, you're able to move and sit with it in. Super cute. Perfect for beginners! Smooth and easy to put in." —Jala

    9. A six-pack of single-use masturbation sleeves that give a whole new meaning to choking the chicken. They start out palm-sized and stretch to fit your member, at which point you can go to town with or without lube for an explosively good time.

A package of the egg-shaped toys

Promising review: "I bought these for my partner, because they had never used toys before and I thought this would be the easiest thing to see if they liked them or not. They're kinda rough when they play, so I got them the hard-boiled ones. They tried the first one yesterday and we used it several times that day. They really loved it. They're extremely happy with these and it's definitely made our playtime more fun. I really enjoy seeing them so happy and excited and they had really nice orgasms with these." —Amazon customer

Price: $27.91+ (available in two packages)

    10. A splurgey bullet vibe from Lelo that's got six speeds, the strongest of which will exceed your expectations for something smaller than your hand, without buzzing much louder than an iPhone. Also, it plugs right into a USB port — no cords to lose!

    The toy and it's accessories

Yeah, it's expensive. But to put things in perspective, I bought my first Lelo toy in 2010 and it's still going strong. I've burned out five Magic Wands over the same period. You really do get what you pay for.

Promising review: "This little guy works great. Super quiet, easy to travel with. Fast charging. If you are looking for a discreet toy, then this one will work for you. Again the quietest one I’ve found out there." —Thalia

Price: $83.51+ (available in three colors)

    11. A rose-shaped clit-sucking toy about the size of a credit card that's no shrinking violet. Thousands of satisfied reviewers all share stories of soul-shattering orgasms.,

Promising review: "THE PICTURE EXPLAINS IT ALL BUT I GOTTA TELL Y'ALL WHAT HAPPENED. I LITERALLY TOOK THIS FOR A JOKE UNTIL I USED IT. Ok, so, I got ready and laid down, to see what the toy was about. I read the instructions, made sure I had it right and I turned it on. The first setting had some vibration, it felt good but I wanted MORE. After about 30 seconds, I turned it to the second setting and in bout 15 seconds I came so much and so hard. Y'all my body froze up, but I was shaking at the same time. I instantly went to sleep." —Amazon customer

Price: $56.99 (available in two colors)

    12. A double-ringed silicone toy reviewers swear by because it's stretchy but stays put, does all the usual ring stuff like keep you harder longer with absolute aplomb, and it's easy to get on and off even if your hairscape down there is on the foresty-side.

A reviewer compares the size of the toy to a penny

Promising review: "The notch on the top of the ring makes it easy to pull and adjust the ring. The band is wide enough such that it puts firm pressure without feeling too constricting. The silicone itself is also very durable and stretchy, I can comfortably stretch it with two fingers eight inches long. It fits well in both positions pictured." —Doritos

Price: $8.99 (available in two colors)

    13. A remote-controlled prostate massager/ring that's basically the mullet of p-spot stimulators: all business up front and a rager out back!

Reviewer's photo of the curved prostate massager and remote

I've tried it and also have a truly glorious mullet myself, so I know what I'm talking about.

Promising review: "I've tried a few products that involved prostate stimulation, and they were quite enjoyable. This one combines an amazing vibrating silicone butt plug along with a cock ring that stretches completely around your parts. The unit has two different vibrating devices in it, which make it next to impossible to concentrate when it is turned on. The remote works from a far distance, and my partner enjoyed making me squirm with the 10 different speeds. It is one of the best items that we have ever bought. What an amazing pick! I have bought a few different items from this company, and the quality is top-notch." —Fitdad

    Price: $26.99

    14. A banana-shaped vibrator from Emojibator that delivers a tingling-like high frequency vibration that's a kind of deep pleasure all on its own and really satisfying if that's what you're after. It's also shockingly quiet. I saw a partner smiling wildly through most of yesterday afternoon only to find out later they had this going in their unders the whole time.

    The yellow, banana-shaped toy

One of the more interesting accidents of a half-decade of HRT is having developed an entirely new anatomical landscape of sexual pleasures and sensations. Even without a different kit of parts, my body has remapped itself, and there's a lot of stuff that's definitely there now even if I can't physically touch it. Not that that's stopped me from trying to get at it, of course!

It's been a long journey and honestly, sometimes the best solution is brute force, but that's not always available or preferable, especially since the more time goes by the more my tastes lean towards the gentle and complex over raw power. So I got scientific. Physics says that higher frequencies, even though they don't penetrate as deep as lower frequencies, offer a more high-fidelity transmission over short distances. So, with something like this, that's a like a hummingbird compared to, say, the bear-grumble of my beloved Magic Wand on the I setting, lets me feel more sensations in places I can't physically reach even if the power of the vibration itself isn't particularly strong. It's like quality over quantity.

Experience bears out the theory, and I've got the soaked sheets to prove it. Also, and in all sincerity, I can't begin to tell you what a relief it is to find something that lets me finally feel everything I deserve to.

Promising review: "Emojibator makes some nice vibrators for the price. They’re quiet, the silicon is super-soft, and they last forever, and are actually waterproof. Plus, the different emoji foods conveniently cover all of the general shape categories that people tend to look for in a toy. Definitely recommend." —Elise

    Price: $28

    15. A pair of clit/nipple pullers I've been using for years for profound and easy-to-control sensation that lasts long after you take these bad boys off.

    The nipple pullers

I've got inverted nipples, towards which most of the time I'm like "whatever," but it does mean that feeling all the things I know I'm able to can be a challenge. So, yes, these are fun to have on and feel good in themselves and the additional sensitivity after is a huge plus, but they're also great at the job they're actually advertised for, un-inverting nips. There's a whole universe of fun stuff that becomes available to me once they do. If you also have this issue, try it and thank me later.

Promising review: "I use it primarily on their clitoris and it works wonders to expand and make it more sensitive. When properly applied, it is surprisingly secure. We tried it on nipples, and if you are into the more intense nipple suction, you will find this toy to be most satisfying." —Thomas

    Price: $8.89

    16. A set of Kegel balls reviewers say go to work right away strengthening your pelvic floor to introduce yourself to whole new levels of pleasure and sensation. And this set is available in different sizes, so there's probably one just right for you, wherever you're at.

The balls in pink and blue

Kegel exercise is a way of repeatedly contracting and relaxing the muscles that form part of the pelvic floor, to help strengthen the muscles. Many people enjoy using those muscles during penetrative sex. You don't need Kegel balls to do Kegels, but many reviewers find it easier to Kegel with Kegel products! Check out this article about what Kegels do to learn more.

Promising review: "I thought buying these would be fun and interesting, but it's gone waaaaay beyond that now. After just a few days, I noticed a difference in feeling and sensation. I've been wearing them for about a month now, and it feels like all these long-dormant nerves have come alive for the very first time. I'm much more sensitive, and sensations are more pleasurable. I started doing 'homework,' where I would orgasm with them in every night after wearing them for a few hours. This was AWESOME. Each day it was stronger, lasted longer, and felt different. I have aftershocks that last for an hour. The whole vagina is much stronger, too, and can bear down/grasp like I never knew a vagina could. Like, snap things off strong (things: beware!). These are also teaching my body to squirt regularly during orgasm and I have only done that three times in my whole life, though I've tried to make it happen for years and years. It's happened once so far since I first got them, and I can tell it will become more frequent (which is something I was hoping to achieve with this purchase)." —Amazon customer

Price: $42.99+ (available in three versions)

    17. A tongue-shaped vibrator about the size of your palm, for discreet Magic Wand-like power that's pocket-sized and virtually silent.

A reviewer holds the purple vibrator

I've taken my Magic Wand through most of America's major airports and had my bag searched every time. Something like this could save me a lot of time and hard stares.

Promising review: "Love, love love! I usually use a Magic Wand, and bought this to travel, as the Magic Wand is much too big and loud for anything other than home-alone use. This is plenty powerful to get me there. Better yet, it's nearly silent, so can be used pretty much anywhere! I've had other compact vibes before but this one by far wins out in terms of power and quietness. I've only used it once thus far, but a few hours' charging was enough for 30 minutes or so of use. It's much smaller than I thought, which also ended up being a good thing for my purposes. It's pretty thin, and only about 3 inches long. The contour makes it such that you're holding the part with the buttons a centimeter or so from your pubic bone rather than curving it totally against your body. This makes for pretty comfortable solo use." —Booklover'84

    Price: $33.99

    18. A mini, waterproof, rechargeable, silicone-covered vibrator wand that despite its small size reviewers say packs quite a punch.

    The toy in blue

The three-hour battery is rechargeable via USB and it comes with a travel pouch.

Promising review: "The power is amazing. At first when I used the highest setting it was too strong. But now that I'm used to it. It only takes a minute or less sometimes! For the price, this wand is amazing!" —Amazon customer

Price: $12.99 (available in five colors)

    19. A ball-stretcher to increase tension, feel more, and go at it stronger, harder, and longer (double entendres all ~definitely~ intended).

    The ball-stretcher, in red

So, there's two uses for this product. One, as the reviewer notes, is similar to any other ring, which is to give your parts a little squeeze and enjoy all the benefits of constricting your genital circulation a bit (longer and harder orgasms, more sensitivity, et cetera). The second use is to train your scrotum to expand so your balls hang lower; despite the name, this little constriction-toy won't actually stretch your balls themselves. Like other things you can do down there with stretching, the effects take time and regular practice to achieve but will be permanent once you do (FWIW, though I haven't done this, I did have great results with tugging, which have lasted me over a decade so far). There are some risks associated with ball-stretching, including surface injuries from pinching, testicular torsion (ouch!), and while there's no proof, is associated with possible effects on fertility. If you're interested in learning more, check out this article.

Promising review: "The feeling is incredible. I've found the best way to put it on and take it off is a liberal amount of baby powder. Another benefit is it really tightens for enhanced sensitivity, plus your erections will be rock-hard." —Goober

Price: $18 (available in four colors)

    20. A Sliquid organic hybrid lube that's 100% DEA-, glycerin-, paraben-, gluten-, sorbitol-, and glycol-free, to the great relief of everyone with those sensitivities (like me!) in need of long-lasting lubrication with all the benefits of water-based and just a touch of silicone. Considering you may only use a quarter-sized splotch at a time, lube may very well be your smallest sex toy, but it's still super-important to have one that works for you!

    The bottle of lubricant

Yes, I've used this and other Sliquid products. Yes, I've loved every single one. Yes, you should try this.

I have a serious gluten intolerance, which as you might imagine is particularly important to stay on top of for both myself and my partners. Anything that gets inside you can make you sick, and also anything that gets on your hands can make its way into, well, any orifice, really. So, attention to detail like these folks offer is definitely appreciated, and I'm glad the company clarifies things on their website instead of leaving it up to me to try and decipher from their ingredients when some, like tocopherol, may or may not be made of wheat, leaving it impossible to discern how risky a product might be. Also, I think that to have an accessible lube on-hand is just polite on behalf of anyone involved who might have a sensitivity, and therefore a worthy investment for anyone intent on sexual courtesy.

Meanwhile, I strongly prefer silicone lubes for the durability, as long they're compatible with whatever toys and/or humans I'm working with. However, they're oftentimes not, and anyway I'm increasingly tired of spending so much time having to scrub it off/out of myself and leaving big ol' grease stains all over my sheets, furniture, towels, and clothes. So, a hybrid like this offers a really nice compromise that's got all the slick sweetness of silicone without being quite so damaging and/or hard to remove. And this one is pretty safe for most circumstances where full-on silicone would be a no-go, although sometimes water-based of course is still the only way to go.

Promising review: "Please note: not all lubes are for all circumstances. Think of this one as an add on, not the main source of moisture. It does not leave a greasy itchy residue, no scent, etc. I react to any change or additive so this is perfect. Other lubes would dry me out or hurt, so this is a great option. A little goes a long way — two very active adults have used two bottles in four years. Worth the price!" —H. R. L.

Price: $22.49+ (available in two textures)

    21. And! A Sliquid water-based lube I use with my favorite penetrative devices and partners when silicone is a no-go. It's got the best consistency for a water-based lube out there, silky-smooth and viscous without being runny or sticky, and it only needs a re-up only about a third as much comparables from KY, Astroglide, Swiss Navy, or ID.

Reviewer holding the bottle of lubricant

A number of my toys and a few of my partners have been just totally incompatible with silicone, and when that happens this is what I turn to. I've been party to dozens of lubes used on myself and others over the years, and I swear this one's better than anything else I've tried. It's a little ironic to consider its performance rock-solid in the slickness department, but it definitely is. And my favorite part is I find it only needs to be re-applied after a good long while; usually I'm worn out long before the lube is, which is a compliment to it indeed, because my stamina when it comes to butt stuff is virtually inexhaustible.

Promising review: "This product is natural-feeling for everyone. We don't find that it dries out too quickly and have not had an issue with fungus growing in the product. It is completely non-irritating with no burning, no itching, no odd reactions. Recommended by physician and physical therapist, so has to be worth a try!" —Catherine W.

    Price: $29.95

P.S.: Like most water-based lubes, this is on the thinner side and consequently you might find yourself wanting to use more of the good stuff than you can easily apply. So I almost always use this one with a lube launcher. Why? Well, sometimes I'm in a hurry, sometimes I'm feeling impatient, but mostly I it's because I know that even though they'll all fit (eventually), fingers alone will never lubricate me to match the pounding I deserve. Having a human-baster on-hand means you'll always have a cleaner and much more efficient method than your hands for getting yourself good and ready to take it for hours on end.

    22. A silicone ball slapper to receive the scrotal punishment of a lifetime. Reviewers rave that it stings. A lot!

    The blue ball spapper

Promising review: "We tried this last night and for such a small implement it packs a pretty good punch. They definitely had fun using it on me and yes, it stung... a lot. I'm really surprised at how effective it is, I wasn't expecting such a great item for the price. Its just the right size for my partner to use and the different textured ends made for a variety of ways to use it. If you're into this sort of thing this is worth adding to your collection. It can actually be used on different body parts and in different ways than intended with great results." —John

    Price: $13.25

    23. A vibrator designed to hit your ~entire~ clit with a velvety silicone surface and 10 ultra-quiet speeds to give yourself a gushing orgasm where the only whines you have to worry about other people hearing are your own.

    Reviewer holding the sex toy

Reviewers also compliment the build quality and packaging.

Price: "This amazing toy is absolutely incredible! I am quite simply in love with the color options and the material that it comes in! It's extremely soft and superb quality. I really like that it is electrically charged and that the charging entry is perfectly protected/disguised while in use, making it waterproof. Plus, it blinks while it is charging so that you know when it's ready for use. It charges really quickly too. The many speeds and vibrating options that it has are wonderful. So many settings that you can choose from! The two little lips are really strong yet amazingly placed so that the little ball tip can work it's magic! " —Amazon customer

Price: $44.99 (available in two colors)

    24. A Satisfyer traveler reviewers say offers no-contact clitoral-sucking nirvana in portable, clip-together two-piece package. It charges real fast and can be used underwater for up to a half an hour (not that you'll last that long!).

    The clit-sucking toy

Promising review: "Out of the four Satisfyer models I own, this is my absolute favorite! Of all four models this is the smallest however its just as powerful. It has its own case helping prevent accidental turn-on. I love how easy this is for me to hold, I also like the button placement it's very easy to change intensity even in use. Due to the tiny size it also works well during penetration as long as you don't mind holding it during use. The magnetic charging is fairly quick and easy. If you've never owned an air pressure stimulator the sensation is divine and feels like a slight suction, with gentle pulsing directing waves to the clitoris. Kind of like intense oral, but not. It's very hard to describe exactly. Before I bought my first one I can honestly say I had never felt ANYTHING quite like it. The orgasms I experience from this are the deep, throbbing, intense, full-body type of orgasm. For the most part I don't last too long with this type of simulation, and I can be very hard-to-please." —Reviews 4 U
