I’m not sure what No. 20’s on about, the whole book series is about Mia in high school and then one spinoff book with her in college and another as an adult.
I thought that the entire world was in black and white until they “invented” colour, which was why old movies were in black and white. I genuinely thought the invention of colour happened at that exact moment in The Wizard of Oz!
I just find her character never really grows, she never learns from her mistakes and grows up. She gets taught the lesson not to react childishly and dramatically to things and she never learns from it, and it causes her so much grief over the years.
