The ending of "Love and Monsters" where everyone decides to go and find each other on the surface, with Joel's big mismatched family of survivors, with the big speech about hope and facing your fears is literally flawless to me. That movie is SO GOOD.

not a film, but a show. Amphibia was a very lighthearted cartoon that never really did anything too dark, because it aired on disney channel. Then (spoilers) they just up and STABBED a main character through the chest!? Poor Marcy. The entire "give him back!" sequence was amazing…
