I went to Brazil years ago, and I was talking to one guy about something comparing with how different it was from back home in California. He said “wait — you’re from California? I thought you said you lived in the United States?”
I love seeing the pronunciation thing, especially when it comes to French people. When they say things about how Americans fail to properly pronounce Louis Vuitton or Yves Saint Laurent, but they themselves can’t say things like hamburger or squirrel.
