I’m not familiar with the term blondies — I always just called these “bars” — but I like it! And all of the above look so much more delicious to me than any brownie I’ve ever had. I’ll take a dozen of each!

There was a time in my life when I might have sought out films like these, partly out of morbid curiosity, partly to test myself (to see if I could “take it”). But after having seen a few films of this type (including several on this list), I realized that I don’t want to seek out awful/disturbing experiences any more. I’m not saying that every movie I watch has to have a happy “Hollywood ending”, but feeling good is so much more of a priority these days. And actively choosing things that support that feeling is absolutely paramount to me.
Bette Davis was an astoundingly talented actress who unfortunately became known for being sort of a parody of herself in the later part of her career. But if you look at her really early work, a lot of it is amazing stuff.
Sort of ridiculous that anyone cares anymore. There are various estimates that 70% to 90% of people have herpes HSV-1, and 22% have HSV-2. Either can affect the genitals, although HSV-1 usually finds itself in the mouth (thus, the nickname “oral herpes”). But if you’ve ever had a cold sore or a canker sore, you’ve got herpes. So do the majority of your friends and family. Big deal. Yes, either one can be painful (I’ve had canker sores as a child that were the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced), but it shouldn’t be looked down upon anymore. Herpes is going to be with us forever, like cockroaches. May as well deal with it.
O_O
Zowie.
Yeah, I saw another website article make the exact same mistake some time ago — don’t recall where, exactly, though. I suspect it might be confusion stemming from the description “top of the nail”: people think it means “top” as it looks when your fingers are pointing upwards, but “top” in this case means the originating growth point. Or, as you say, “base” — a much better word to avoid the confusion.
I am so ready to eat the heart-attack-on-a-plate that is #6.
Even though the kid is too young to appreciate it until he/she gets older, it’s still awesome — #15 FTW!
Yeah, I wonder if some people think that putting quotes around a word is the same as emphasizing it? It’s almost as if they were “missing” that day when the use of quotation marks was “taught” in school.
Out of all these folks, Mädchen Amick FTW! She still looks gorgeous.
