BuzzFeed Community is the home for awesome posts created by BuzzFeeders who have successfully applied to be in BuzzFeed's Community. To apply to be in BuzzFeed's Community, all you need to do is sign up for an account, make a post that you think would do well on BuzzFeed, and click "Suggest" to suggest your post to our Community editors.
Want to sign up for your brand or organization? You are welcome to sign up and post through a brand or organization account, but please know that we do not generally promote those kinds of posts within Community or to the BuzzFeed home page. You should also know that under our Terms of Service, brands or organizations may not pay for promotion to their BuzzFeed posts, or have third parties promote these posts.

If the post you suggest is good or fun or original or interesting or some glorious combination of those four things, our editors will feature it on the BuzzFeed Community page. Posts from Community Brand Publishers are automatically submitted to our editors but will not be featured and will not receive editorial promotion.
Here is how all of that works, in a list. People like lists, right?

When you first sign up, you will get one opportunity to Suggest each day, but as your Cat Power (see below) gets higher and higher, the more Suggests per day you'll get.
5. Cat Power.
As you know, the internet is powered primarily by cats, so your Cat Power on BuzzFeed is an official measure of your rank in BuzzFeed's Community. The more you are featured and the better you get at making awesome posts, the higher your Cat Power will be, and with great Cat Power comes great Cat Responsibility, which, I don't know what that means, but it's fun to say.
When you first sign up for BuzzFeed, you will have one opportunity to Suggest a post each day. After your first post is accepted, your Cat Power will go from 0 to 1, and over time, as more of your posts are accepted, your Cat Power will increase, giving you more opportunities to Suggest posts for the Community page in addition to other cool perks and privileges.
