In July, BuzzFeed News published an investigative article detailing the alleged toxicity of the workplace at The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Both Ellen and her show have been under scrutiny as former employees continue to speak out, but so far, she's only addressed the allegations internally with her staff.
On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness — no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect. Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show.

Now, the longtime host is preparing to address the controversy publicly with her fans.
Earlier this week, it was announced that the Season 18 premiere of Ellen will air on Monday, Sept. 21. And according to Deadline, the star commented on the news in a press release, saying, "I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it.”

The series — which had been filming episodes from Ellen's home since April — will return to filming in-studio without a live audience, due to the coronavirus.
Some celebs have defended the star amidst the allegations, while others have spoken out about their own negative experiences, so it'll be interesting to see how she interacts with her guests moving forward.
