This year, Google compiled its data to see which top trending search results had the highest spike in traffic over a sustained period in 2015 as compared to 2014. Here's what they found:

8. Chris Kyle

Chris Kyle, who died in 2013, was a Navy SEAL who wrote an autobiography titled American Sniper. The book was turned into the 2014 film, directed by Clint Eastwood.

4. Caitlyn Jenner

This year, Caitlyn Jenner came out as a transgender woman. When she joined Twitter in June, she had more than 1 million followers within four hours.

The former NBA star was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel in October and was brought to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment. He's currently being treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
