Hi, my name is Kelly and I'm kinda obsessed with Riverdale.
Riverdale has thrown some pretty wild stuff at us over the years, from Archie getting mauled by a bear to Chad Michael Murray playing a cult leader. But the final scene in last night's mid-season finale TRULY threw me for a curve. And I need to talk about it.
Season 3 ended on a major cliffhanger where Betty, Archie, and Veronica threw Jughead's beanie into a bonfire.
Naturally, fans freaked out at the idea that the crew killed Jughead. Because um, WHAT THE HELL does this mean?!
However, a lot of fans also had serious doubts that Riverdale would ACTUALLY kill Jughead off. I, for one, was very reassured by the cast's reveal that Cole Sprouse actually wasn't in that final scene because he didn't want to film in the cold. Everything is fine, I thought! Jughead isn't dead, I insisted!
But after last night's cliffhanger ending, I'm rethinking EVERYTHING. Here's what they showed us in the flash-forward:
Notice Betty is holding a rock — and in an earlier flashback, we saw younger Betty seemingly kill the family cat with one.
And then Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty, casually tweeted this...
So, hold up — ARE THEY TELLING US BETTY KILLED JUGHEAD??!!
I don't know what to believe anymore. I really don't. Is Jughead dead? Is this just all part of his murder mystery book? Did they actually kill his long-lost twin Souphead instead?!
I'm totally lost. And so is Twitter, apparently:
We'll have to wait until Riverdale comes back to find out. But in the meantime, what the heck do you think is going on?!
