The Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists picket lines are in full swing after the latter officially went on strike last week.
This is the first time since 1960 that both unions have struck at the same time, making this moment a particularly notable period in Hollywood. However, there's been several additional strikes since 1960, including a period for the WGA between 2007 and 2008.
From Nov. 5, 2007, to Feb. 12, 2008, the writers guild struck for multiple reasons, including compensation for the digital distribution of content. You can read more about it here.
