Jeffree Star Opened Up About The James Charles Drama A Year Later And Said He "Doesn't Know" If The Accusations He Made Then Are True

"It's people in our community that are saying things, and I don't know if they're true or not," Jeffree said.

If you cast your mind back to simpler times, you may remember that just under a year ago the big news taking over all our timelines was a dramatic feud between YouTubers James Charles, Tati Westbrook, and — for some reason — Jeffree Star.

It all started when Tati uploaded a video to her channel titled "Bye Sister", airing out a bunch of issues she had had with James over the years and effectively ending their friendship.

However, things got even more serious and complicated when fellow YouTuber Jeffree Star weighed in, claiming in some swiftly deleted tweets that James was a "predator" and a "danger to society".

He went on to accuse James of manipulating his fans, and threatened to expose the "sad, disgusting things" he said James had done.

But James threw a spanner in the works when he posted his own 41-minute-long video full of screenshots and receipts, including of texts from Jeffree, in which he called Jeffree's accusations "hurtful" and "defamatory".

And then Jeffree uploaded his own response video, titled "Never Doing This Again", apologising for wading into the drama and saying he "jumped the gun on a situation he didn't fully understand".

"There were people telling me a lot of stuff — and I don't mean my friends, I meant people that had known James," he went on. "Should I have let other people get in my head and sway my opinion about someone? No."

Well, during a new interview on the Mom's Basement podcast, Jeffree opened up about where the feud is at now, and called it a "very complicated situation".

When asked if he really believed James is a "predator", Jeffree reiterated that he had been "told some things", but admitted that he has no proof whether they're true or not.

He went on to say that he's not happy with the fact that he gets most of the blame for "ruining James' career", when it was Tati who uploaded the original video in the first place.

    He said:

[Tati] uploaded a 40-minute video about him, and she should have never uploaded that. But she did. And, for some reason, James thinks that me and Shane [Dawson] tried to ruin his life and orchestrated the whole thing like we fucking care. For what? We're our own superstars, we're in our own lane.

And Jeffree went on to say that, as it stands, he isn't friends with either Tati or James, but insisted that there's no feud between any of them.
