The first film won't be hitting theaters until at least 2017. So, until then, here's our take on a major monster dreamcast:

Now: Idris Elba trumping all as the monster.

Why he'd be a good fit:

With his incredibly towering on-screen presence, Idris would obviously captivate the audience better than any one else could as one of the most famous monsters of the silver screen. Plus, he's a London-born gem just like Karloff!

Now: Tilda Swinton killing it as the bride.

Why she'd be a good fit:

The fact that Tilda absolutely slays every role she takes on makes her one of the few actors who could actually tackle this iconic character and make it look like child's play. And fun bonus: she's English, like Lanchester herself.

Now: Sebastian Stan slaying the look and hearts everywhere.

Why he'd be a good fit:

Born in Romania, only hours from Transylvania itself, Sebastian and his mesmerizingly good looks are a perfect match for this famous character from his homeland. And, you know, we'd definitely like to see him sink his teeth into us, er, the role!

Now: Amr Waked is spellbinding as the ancient creature.

Why he'd be a good fit:

You may not be familiar with this popular Egyptian actor, but his film and television credits are undoubtedly impressive. Also, wouldn't it be nice to finally see an Egyptian actor in this legendary role?

Now: Iwan Rheon as the fur-covered frightener.

Why he'd be a good fit:

Recognizable for his work as Ramsay Snow on Game of Thrones, Iwan clearly has the chops to bring a bit of madness to the Wolf Man. And fun bonus: He's a Welshman, just like the title character!

Now: Marion Cotillard shockingly perfect as a female Phantom.

Why she'd be a good fit:

She's already won one Oscar for her famous transformation as Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose, so why not let her tackle one of the most notorious creatures in French history too. Also, casting a woman as the Phantom could be a perfect twist to the classic story,

Now: Doug Jones done up as the curious creature.

Crystal Ro / BuzzFeed

Why he'd be a good fit:

You may not be familiar with his name, but you've probably seen Doug Jones in one of his many famous "creature" character roles like Fauno and the Pale Man in Pan's Labyrith or as Abe Sapien in the Hellboy series. Either way, as one of the most popular "men in suits" working in Hollywood today, he'd obviously be a top choice.
