Alannah commented on Tell Us The Incredibly Awkward Way You Ran Into Your Ex

I broke up with a guy at the end of freshman year. I still had 3 more years of school where I saw this dude in the music building, out around town, at parties, literally everywhere. The most awkward encounter was my senior year's I was laying in my hammock with my current friends-with-benefits.…

Alannah commented on What YA Book Should Everyone Reread As An Adult?

The giver series, for sure. That book effed me up as a kid. I couldn't bring myself to read it through again till college.

Alannah commented on 21 People Share The Most Insulting Thing Their Boss Ever Said To Them And You Will Be Stunned

I worked a summer for my brother-in-law's painting business. One of the foremen on the job once asked to see my brush (which my BIL had bought for me), said "this thing wouldn't be worth anything if you strapped a quarter to it" then threw it into the bushes of the client's house…

    24. Copper IUD slipped out of place. Strings still felt normal when I checked every month, so I had no idea. Partner never felt anything different, either. IUD was STILL in my uterus when we found out I was pregnant. It was removed before I took the first pill. My doctor still doesn't…

Alannah commented on Tell Us How Adopting A Pet With Special Needs Changed Your Life

This is Fiona, our mini Australian Shepherd. She's a double merle, meaning that her parents both had the "merle" coat pattern (those Aussies that look all spotty and have a bunch of different coat colors). She's over 95% white with just a couple little spots of her merle coat pattern…

Alannah commented on 23 Truths About "Geriatric Pregnancies" From Women Who Had Them

Not everyone gets to choose whether they'll have kids in their 20's. My mom had my sister 19 years before I was born. She went back to school, got a divorce from my sister's dad cause he was cheating, married my dad, and had multiple miscarriages before having me at 38. If she had…

Buying in bulk and freezing only works if you have the space for it though. My fridge is like 3/4 the size of a normal one, so I generally opt to pay more per pound while only buying as much as I need so I don't end up with stuff that I can't fit in the fridge/freezer.

Alannah commented on If You're A Millennial Who Lived Through The Great Recession, Tell Us How You're Doing Now

I'm 25, currently. When the recession hit, my dad was laid off from his job as a trucker. My mom was a Registered Nurse, so we were able to "live", but we went from being comfortable to paycheck to paycheck. We had a lot of medical bills that piled up because I developed an autoimmune…

I forgot that I even ate some of these as a kid. The swoops were the shizz when I was a kid.

Alannah commented on Tell Us About A Time You Finally Decided To Stand Up For Yourself

When I was in high school, I was responsible for cooking dinner. So, one night, I'm cooking dinner and my dad, who was very nitpicky, came and started telling me how I was doing everything wrong. I had been mostly enduring his criticism of me and what I did silently, but this night…
