This is a totally honest answer to your question. It's not really a secret that I dislike gender stereotypes.

Eh. Mature women will like you for who you are.
Don't you dare make things worse, Dorsey Shaw. :P
The rampant sexism and use of gendered stereotypes that derives from people not knowing the difference between gender and sex, which often goes hand-in-hand a tendency to assume gendered behavior is natural, rather than constructed, and/or universal in men or women. Really, the worst is when stereotypes like “girls should care about fashion!” or “boys are icky” are mixed into pseudo-intellectual articles so a whole new generation can soak 'em up and pass them on to their kids.
Wow. If you don't like being gender-stereotyped because you're a woman, at least have the courtesy to not do the same to men.
I LOVE HER!
I need this.
Yay turtle. :)
I don't know too much about either band, but there's no excuse for choosing Wanted over One Direction. Why? Liam Payne, member of One Direction, has a super adorable turtle (see photo for proof) named ARCHIMEDES. Which is a fantastic name for a turtle. In short, One Direction passes the turtle test.
WHY ARE THERE NOT MORE REPTILES ON THIS LIST?!?!!?
I misunderstood the meme reference because I didn't catch the hyperlinks in the description. My apologies; here's one of my favorite pictures of Hillary (left, with the megaphone) at Wellesley College to make up for it. I believe this is one of the images from the '69 Life Magazine spread about her commencement speech.
I see now that there are hyperlinks in the description. They're not formatted to stand out from the text, so I missed them the first time around. So I retract my first comment.
Whatever evil plot you guys are up to with all these cute pets better involve turtles. Remember, the STFU is watching!
How is this a meme? They're just pictures of Hillary Clinton. I like them a lot, but they've been posted before and I saw all of them ten years ago. But speaking of Wellesley, they have a relatively new institute for promoting women in politics named after Madeleine Albright, another Wellesley graduate. Hillary's actively involved. I'd love to see some coverage of that.
Also, I didn't get the sense that anyone was drawing attention to the jacket because it was pink; they were drawing attention to it because it wasn't green. Its not-greenness prompted a discussion of whether or not she was offered membership. You're making a gendered issue out of something that isn't really there. At one point your article makes it seem as if people were being critical of her for being a woman wearing that color.
Perhaps she just likes pink. Here's another picture of Rometty in a pink jacket. I guess I would have liked more engagement with the club's exclusionary policies than the color of the jacket members get to wear. Both times I've read Shift pieces on female CEOs fashion has come up. I don't see why it's relevant (or the Kardashian connections, for that matter). Women are more than just the clothes they wear.
You guys should get some toothbrushes and make a bunch of turtles dance.
Ahhhh, OK then. :)
Which one of these is supposed to be cute?
I'm going to go put on some black nail polish in honor of this post and I don't plan on regretting it in the slightest.
