To be fair, the English majors had to do lots more time on assignments OUTSIDE of their lecture time. And writing essays takes lots of time with the reading.

When I was doing my Physics degree, I had 15-20 hours of lectures, 4-5 hours of 'workshop' time (for worksheets and assignments with a lecturer present) and 6 lab hours per week. Don't forget all the hours outside of that for homework and extra lab time! ;)

If you are going to buy a sewing machine... Do NOT for the love of all that is holy buy a £49 one. Not even pros can get those sewing properly! Invest. And by invest, I mean £250 for a cheap heavy duty machine (new and delivered). Then you can do everything... ?
