Maybe this is all J.K.’s way of having us less invested in the three main characters in order for us to let go and be prepared for more stories from the wizarding world. Maybe she has a plan. Maybe she’s going to write stories about James, Lily, Sirius, Lupin, Snape, etc. and their schooling at Hogwarts and their couple of years battle as the original Order and she closes out those books with the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone…? I mean we all already love all of those characters. I would buy 7 more books and give up another decade of my life and another stream of money for that!
Response to What’s The Most Underrated Dessert In NYC?:
Go to Brooklyn Smorasburg and get some butter cake from Gooey & Co. Every single flavor is amazing, but my favorite is the original. Dough has the most spectacular toasted coconut doughnuts I’ve ever tasted. Insomnia Cookies in NYC fresh bake their cookies until 3 a.m. You get fresh, warm, gooey cookies every time! The s’mores cookie is insane. Cafeteria has an ice cream waffle sundae that’s big enough for four people to share and it comes with house made ice cream. From their site:
Cafeteria Waffle Banana Split
Salted Caramel Ice Cream, Caramelized Banana, Hot Fudge, Peanut Cracker Jacks
Calm down, everyone. Most places have “chicken salt” just under a different name. Here in the U.S. it’s “seasoned salt”. You can buy it in any and every supermarket that sells spices. It’s amazing on hash browns! Brings them to a whole new level.
I do love PoA, but my personal favorite is OotP. Breaks my heart every single time.
I have longed for a spin-off about the Marauders…to read about them growing up. It would be amazing to know them the way we know the HP gang. On the otherhand, I also think it would be the most heart wrenching because we know how everything turned out. To read about their lives together and know how it’s going to be ripped apart may be more devastating to me than “always”.
My God, I’m getting the feels just thinking about it.
Okay…you know these bitches don’t eat cookies. Even if they did, their clan isn’t big enough to even put a dent in 13 family sized packages of cookies that fill the THREE jars that are on her counter. Tell me these assholes just throw out that much food when there are a ton of homeless and hungry people in their general vicinity of Los Angeles. Every month to boot! I’ve never wasted a Double Stuff Oreo in my life. Honestly, what the hell is wrong with these people?!
I didn’t think that would make me as emotional as it did…right in the feels…right in the damn feels.
YESSSS! This, for once, is actually accurate…or maybe all of these were picked by North Jersey people like myself so I can relate.
Yes, this is an acceptable response when someone asks you your whereabouts:
Husband: “Where are you?”
Me driving on the parkway: “141” Bowcraft blew my mind! One summer my cousin and I were in his pool (summer of 1990) and wouldn’t stop chanting “Bowcraft tonight, Bowcraft, tonight!” until our mothers gave in and took us. Only issues: I have never heard of the term “shoobie”, “benny” yes, but shoobie never in my life. I can only guess it’s because my family was a Seaside Heights family where we were considered benny’s and not a Wildwood family…maybe shoobie is more from that area…? And lastly, I have to disagree with the water bottle. Never pronounced it “wooder” a day in my life, but I did/do pronounce it “wawd-er”. Again, maybe a difference between North and South Jersey pronunciation. But, all around, good post!
Response to Which “Trainspotting” Character Are You?:
Props for including River Phoenix in the choices. Favorite actor of all time! I always wished that there was an alternate universe that existed where he was still alive and him and Leo dominated the awards nominations. Sigh…
Response to 19 Things Every Jersey Girl Knows To Be True:
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how you tell if a person is from North Jersey or South Jersey…it just takes one simple question. Is it Taylor Ham or is it Pork Roll? If the answer is Taylor Ham you’re from above the Raritan tolls. If the answer is Pork Roll you’re from down the shore or beyond. If the answer is “do you mean scrapple?” you may as well just move to Philly because you’re practically one of them, but living under the guise of one of us. And for the record, it’s taylor ham.
I CANNOT WAIT! Been waiting for this for years! The additions to the core cast are insane!
Name: Thalia Firewatcher
Wand: Hornbeam with a phoenix feather core
Companion: White cat
Best Moment: Inventing a new spell

Now, I think I’m done with the list.

HA! Yeah, my aunt pulled a #12 on me…I got married at 27…”How old are you now? 27! And you’re just getting married! It’s about time!” Gotta love us Greeks. :)
It’s “a bit of thine own tongue”.
Okay, I have to weigh in on this one. Maybe it’s just an issue of age? Growing up in the 80’s my mother still cooked some of the dishes above…(1)because they were budget friendly and (2)because they tasted good. Cheeseburger pie, strawberry mousse mold (pink bavarian cream), egg and cheese casserole, ribbon meatloaf with a ketchup glaze, fruit salad with strawberry yogurt. I swear they are all really tasty dishes. Nothing about a lot of these recipes is less than appealing to me, but it may just be my age. Maybe whoever wrote this article was born in the mid-90’s and it looks revolting to them…? But, to me, for the most part I would eat these or at least give them a shot.
Response to Patrick Stewart Says He And Other Victims Of Domestic Violence Have Been “Failed” By Police:
Does anyone else want to vote for Sir Patrick to become Supreme Leader of the World? Of course, Sir Ian would have to be Vice Supreme. But, seriously…who’s with me?
Response to 21 Tricks Every Non-Morning Person Should Know:
#11 is useless unless others can see through the mug.
I’m going through some serious “Sherlock” withdrawal. I was so excited when the headline said Christmas…then massive disappointment when it was followed by 2015. And, I live in the States so I have to Youtube the new episodes the day after they premiere in the UK because I just can’t wait the three weeks until I can watch it on PBS Masterpiece!
Jason Lewis is the hottest guy…EVER! Can’t believe it took buzzfeed so long to feature him.
I agree…but, with #2. I tried clicking it over and over again. Damn you, Colin O’Donoghue, and your handsome self.
Wow. You just know this gentleman is going to be a wonderful grandfather. So heartwarming.Congrats!
Response to How Many Iconic ’80s Films Have You Seen?:
159 of 170…don’t know if I should be proud or if I should reflect on how many hours of my youth I wasted watching the “Saturday Afternoon Movies” on WPIX channel 11 (a local NY area station). Not to mention that I’ve seen them all multiple times and still own the majority on vhs. V.H.S.!!!
When this movie came out on vhs I watched it non-stop, back to back. I wanted to be her! Who didn’t want to make a voodoo doll of the teacher they hated most and make him walk through a car wash?! Classic!
