Miley Cyrus Fangirled Over Hilary Duff On Instagram Live And It's The Disney Mashup I Never Knew I Needed

"I would never be sitting here if it wasn't for you."

Social distancing has forced many people to become a little more creative in order to keep themselves occupied and entertained.

And while many have turned to TikTok dance challenges and cooking to cure their boredom, Miley Cyrus decided to start her own Instagram Live talk show called Bright Minded.

On Wednesday, she chatted with Reese Witherspoon, Bebe Rexha, Dua Lipa, and one of her idols, Hilary Duff.

I didn't know Miley was such a huge fan of the fellow Disney star until she began to introduce her on the show. Miley called herself a Hilary Duff stan and cited her as being the reason she pursued acting and singing.

And Miley got a chance to tell the Lizzie McGuire star just how much she meant to her, including the influence Hilary had on her career.

"The only reason I wanted it [the Hannah Montana role] was so I could do whatever you did. And so really, I don’t think I gave a shit about being an actress or a singer."

"I just wanted to copy you no matter what. So I just wanted to say thank you again for just inspiring me."

"I would never be sitting here, being able to be a light if it wasn’t for you and you showing me how to do that.”

Miley even reminded Hilary of the time they did a surprise interview together when they were younger. Miley gushed over Hilary back then too, thanking Hilary for making "good girls" cool again.

    Much

There was so much love and admiration in that conversation that Hilary couldn't help but return the favor by telling Miley what an inspiration she's been.

First of all, you’re so sweet, and I feel like I’ve known you for such a long time. Just to hear you say that, I feel like you have been such a bright light and you have made so many choices that have been so bold and you’re an inspiration to me and to all of us — and you continue to be.

I don't know about you, but this was just the type of feel-good content I needed. To hear more from Miley and Hilary, check out the full interview below.
