13 Villains Whose Origin Stories Are So Interesting They Deserve Movies Of Their Own

Seriously, where is the Ursula movie?

Recently, we asked the BuzzFeed Community which movie villains deserve their own prequels. Here are their most ~villainous~ answers:

    1. Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove

    Disney / Via

"I don’t particularly like her, but there are some things I need to know. How is she the royal adviser? Why is she so old? Where did she find Kronk? How does she have the certification to serve as a high school principal in the TV series? Most importantly, why is she purple?"

"It should chronicle her experiences throughout the many, many, many eras she lived through."

    2. Jafar from Aladdin

    Disney / Via

"It could show his background (which was briefly touched upon in the live-action film), how he acquired his staff, and the way he manipulated his way to becoming a vizier."

    3. President Snow from The Hunger Games

    Lionsgate Films / Via

"I know his book got mixed reviews, but I found it fascinating to watch his character development, and I NEED the sequel to it! It would be a brilliant movie."

    4. Syndrome from The Incredibles

    Disney / Pixar / Via

"I would absolutely love to follow along on on his journey [from superfan] to supervillain."

    5. Captain Hook from Peter Pan

    Disney / Via

"How did he end up in Neverland? Why does he hate Peter Pan so much? Show me Tick-Tock the Croc and the infamous hand incident. Bonus points if Colin O'Donoughue (Hook from Once Upon a Time) is in it."

    6. Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog

    Disney / Via

"I feel like he has a lot of unused potential, like how he got into the shadow world and what motivations he had for learning black magic."

    "Daveed Diggs should play him."

    7. Queen Bavmorda from Willow

    MGM / Via

"What made her so evil as to curse Tir Asleen and ruthlessly look to conquer so many lands? How did she end up having a daughter and become so twisted that she was fine attempting to kill her? What was the relationship between her and Fin Raziel that ended with the latter being exiled and transformed into a possum?"

    8. Gaston from Beauty and the Beast

    Disney / Via

"Why does he eat five dozen eggs?"

    9. Bucky Barnes from Captain America and the Winter Soldier

    Marvel / Via

"I want to see more about what happened between the end of Captain America: The First Avenger and The Winter Soldier. It would be so interesting, especially with all we know about Hydra from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

    10. Ursula from The Little Mermaid

    Disney / Via

"She alludes to having once lived in the palace. Was she banished because she was a cecaelia? Was she banished because of her magic? Was she originally a mermaid but transformed into a cecaelia for some reason? I've had questions for over 30 years, Disney!"

    11. Madam Medusa from The Rescuers

    Disney / Via

"She messed me up as a child. I feel like her origin story would be really dark but really interesting."

    12. Hades from Hercules

    Disney / Via

"Nothing more epic than a Greek myth."

    13. And Scar from The Lion King

    Disney / Via

"How did he end up so different from Mufasa?"

"What was his childhood like growing up with his brother? It must’ve been pretty bad to compel him to murder him, even if it meant becoming king. It could be about the royal family of lions."
