11. Mickey and Ian from Shameless

SHOWTIME

"They blur the lines so completely with heterosexual norms, and even with stereotypes in a gay relationship. Mickey is the 'bottom' in the relationship, but he's also the toughest, roughest guy on the show. Ian wears the pants in the relationship, but his character is soft, sensitive, and pretty. I think the juxtaposition between their roles outside the relationship vs. inside the relationship is beautiful."

12. Imogen and Fiona from Degrassi: The Next Generation

"They were one of the longest-running couples and were so good to each other. They also started off as best friends and their relationship grew organically!"

13. Zoe and Rasha from Degrassi: Next Class

Netflix

They were genuinely one of the most healthy, supportive pairings on the show. Not only was their relationship great lesbian representation, but Rasha was also Muslim and a Syrian refugee. Rasha helped Zoe accept herself and see that her homophobic mom was wrong, and Zoe helped Rasha get out of her shell. They even won prom queens!

14. Willow and Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

"I just watched this show for the first time and wasn’t expecting such good representation and well-rounded LGBTQ characters from a show that debuted in the '90s. They were a really good representation of a young gay couple and both characters also had storylines outside of their relationship. My only issue was Tara falling victim to the trope of killing off LGBTQ characters."

"They were super cute together, and I love how Charlie didn't give up even when Alex pushed him away."

17. Emily and Naomi from Skins

These two were messy at times, but their relationship was so raw and real. Naomi really had to break down all her walls to admit that she was falling for Emily, accept her sexuality, and open her heart to a relationship. They went through lots of ups and downs, but they always loved each other.

18. Grizz and Sam from The Society

"They had such a wholesome relationship. You could tell Grizz really cared about him when he put in the effort to learn sign language. It was especially cute when Grizz asked Sam how to sign 'I love you.'"

"They were so good together. Maya not only made Emily feel okay about her sexuality, but she also truly made her happy."

I'll say it over and over again: These two are soulmates and they NEED to just officially date already. Their chemistry speaks for itself, they're incredibly supportive of each other, and they have the potential to be the next big ship of the Vampire Diaries franchise. I'd rather watch these two over Hope and Landon any day.
