I haven't used this for nail biting but it would probably work. Have a rubber band around your wrist and every time you get the urge to bite you nails, snap your wrist with the rubber band. Then you'll associate biting your nails with pain.
Finding a therapist who is a queer woman like myself was really helpful, even though my main issues aren't about my sexual orientation. It helps when core parts of yourself like gender, sexuality, etc... are common ground, it makes me feel very safe and comfortable to be all of myself…
