29 Kitchen Products For Anyone Who Refuses To Turn On Their Oven This Summer

Why use an oven when the Instant Pot can do the work of seven appliances — it's the Beyoncé of kitchen appliances, for sure.

1. A soft-serve machine so you can have ice cream whenever you want right from home. Make professional-quality, homemade soft serve, yogurt, sorbet, sherbet, or ice cream all summer and save yourself the daily trip to Baskin-Robbins for those 100-degree day cravings — you now basically live with Ben & Jerry.

Ice cream makes everything better, but you know what makes ice cream better? Sprinkles, of course! And this baby has two condiment containers to store all your toppings.

Promising review: "This is one awesome machine; we use it at least once a week and try new flavors and experiment all the time. Very easy to use, cleaning is a breeze, and the taste and quality rival the big chains out there in soft serve land. This tastes much better because you can use all real ingredients — heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and the list is endless of what your flavors can be. Sometimes, we make so much we seal and freeze it for a later date (just take it out of the freezer and let it sit for a few minutes, and it's ready). One of the best items I have ever purchased! In fact, I am down to only three containers of ice cream in the freezer...gotta run and restock!!! You will enjoy this great machine, and the kids will love to help you make it and serve themselves. I give this 6 stars out of 5!!!" UMCanes1972

Promising review: "Besides a good chef, this machine has been the most used and most beloved instrument in my kitchen! From grilling to toasting and everything in between. The addition of reversible griddle irons and the flat laying top handle has been a major boost to the utility of this product. Additionally, having the grease catcher as an internal bucket (and a much larger one at that) makes cleanup much easier. I use this product literally every week and have no complaints. To clean, simply add some dish soap and warm water and press start for 30-60 seconds — it's ~that~ simple!

Promising review: "Simply put: this blender is astounding. I've now owned it for a month and it gets used almost every day in my house! We make smoothies, chili pastes, cornmeals, frozen cocktails, soups — it does everything. We have effectively retired our Bullet blender and our immersion blender, nothing gets near the same level of smoothness. I was initially, slightly concerned that the volume would be too small, but I have yet to encounter any problems. Worst case, I do stuff in batches, but, this blender is so fast, it really doesn't matter. If you're a serious cook or chef in your home kitchen, you want this by your side for creamy soups and sauces." —Amazon Customer

You can even steam crabs in this and as a Maryland girl, I find that's so exciting, like, I squealed — if you're from Maryland, you know. Just fill the tank with water, set the timer, and BAM!

Promising review: "There is simply nothing to dislike about this steamer. It exceeded my expectations. I had a $30+ steamer for five years and loved the concept of cooking, but the plastic trays were flimsy and awkward to handle. The design concept on this unit is superb and the removable fill tank and feature which delivers steam from the top of the container works great. I would highly recommend this unit. It is pricey but is well worth it." —John Daniel

Promising review: "There are so many people who say they can't cook, but I swear I'm on a whole new level of not being able to cook. This little appliance helps expand our menu and I have learned to do so much with it. I love how easy it is and how I throw everything in and it comes out done. No stirring and not many messy dishes. I still don't love it for meats, but I think that's just a matter of needing to experiment more with them. I seriously can't believe how many foods can be cooked in here! I found a recipe for a mac 'n' cheese that everyone loves. It's only five ingredients and only requires washing a cheese grater and the pot and it only takes 20 minutes. Before this I had never once made spaghetti with meat sauce. Now I do it all the time. Again, I only have ONE thing to clean afterwards. If I tried doing with without the Instant Pot, I would have a pan for the meat, pot for the pasta, and the strainer. It only takes about 20 minutes start to finish. Since I usually don't have to do many dishes with the Instant Pot, I tend to enjoy experimenting. My family is constantly surprised at how much this has changed how we eat. I love that when we have a last-minute neighborhood get-together and I can whip up a pasta dish and veggie real quick." —Aundrea

Promising review: "This thing is great. Very sturdy. Works amazingly well. I bought this because I had 1 1/2 bushels of apples I needed to core to make apple butter. Did the job in no time at all with this gadget. Much less waste than cutting around the core and in 99+% of the apples it removed the entire core and seeds without me having to do touch-ups with a paring knife. 17. A Zojirushi rice cooker so you can get *perfect* rice every 👏  single 👏  time. 👏 If making rice is like, the bane of your existence but you can't stop making yourself burrito bowls, this will be your holy grail. No more mushy or crunchy rice!

I know, steep price, but this thing will make you sushi rice, long grain rice, brown rice, short grain rice, even steel cut oats. And! It keeps your rice warm after it's cooked just in case your chicken's taking a liiiiittle longer than you anticipated.

Promising review: "If you eat a lot of rice, a Zojirushi rice cooker is absolutely worth the cost. I thought my $10 standard rice cooker from Kohl’s did a pretty good job. That is, until I tasted the rice that the Zojirushi makes. Every grain of rice in the cooker is perfect and uniformly cooked throughout. No slightly overcooked rice on the bottom, no more undercooked or overcooked rice. I can set the timer before work and come home to perfect rice at night. This particular unit is small and meant for a two- or three-person family. I really had no idea how much better rice could be until I started using this thing. Beware, however: good rice takes time to cook. You’ll need to start your rice an hour or more before you need it to be ready. Some modes take a very long time, such as the GABA mode, which takes 3.5 hours. There is a 'quick' mode which cooks white rice in about a half an hour, but I don’t use that one because I want my rice to taste as good as possible. Overall I am very happy with the Zojirushi. The little songs it plays are fun. The manual is well written and easy to understand. The unit feels extremely high quality and well designed throughout." —CDandEB

BuzzFeed Shopping editor Katy Herman LOVES the Fasta Pasta and had this to say:

"Two of the most basic facts about me are that 1) I love pasta and 2) I'm lazy as heck. Cooking pasta is pretty easy, even for someone like me who rarely cooks. But still, it's a little more than I want to do when I'm feeling hungry and/or burnt out to wait for the water to boil and have to wash the pot and colander when I'm done. What I really needed was something that could have the whole process done in under 15 minutes and that I could just toss in the dishwasher.

Enter the Fasta Pasta (great name btw). I'm really amazed by what a game-changer it is, as well as how user-friendly it is. It comes with a booklet of instructions on how long to cook/how much pasta and water to use for all different shapes of pasta, plus there's an extended list on the product's website. All you have to do is measure out the pasta and fill the tub with water to the appropriate fill line, then microwave it on high for the noted amount of time. When it's done, you pop on the lid, which has convenient handles. I was nervous about using my bare hands to take this out of the microwave even with the handles, but amazingly it doesn't get that hot! The lid also has a built-in strainer, which is perfect for both helping you fill the Fasta Pasta with a precise amount of water and for straining once the pasta is cooked. Then voila! You've got pasta! Check out my full Fasta Pasta review (#2), and yes, please cast me in an infomercial about it."

26. A silicone popcorn maker that'll make delish popcorn with ease for your outdoor summer movie night. This bb is dishwasher safe and collapsible for easy storing. What's a movie without popcorn? Popping kernels = yummy popcorn, but doing it on the stove? You'll be melting quicker than the Wicked Witch of the West.

Simply add your kernels to the bowl, cover it up, throw it in the microwave (on high, not the popcorn feature) and you've got movie theater popcorn right at home. Oh and no need for oil (unless you want)! Yum.

Promising review: "Our family has had this popcorn popper for 4 years so far and it is still going strong. The lid is JUST NOW becoming a smidge cloudy, but that doesn't bother us. It gets regular to daily use, depending on who is home. We only hand wash it if that makes a difference for longevity, not sure. My college-aged son uses it daily when he's home from school. So much so that I'm on here ordering him one to take back to school with him! It makes great popcorn and I add olive oil to the bottom before popping simply because I like the taste. My kids don't use any oil or butter in the bottom and either way it makes perfect popcorn. Few to no kernels left after popping in the microwave and great tasting popcorn. And we are proof that this inexpensive purchase lasts a number of years with regular use. If we need enough popcorn for 3–6 people on movie night I break out the stove top popper, but for 1–2 people this is perfect. Or you can just pop more than one batch in a row using this if you want more. I originally got this because I didn't want my preteen kids fiddling with the stovetop popper alone when they were younger and they could work this by themselves if they wanted popcorn. Also perfect for college kids in their microwaves because all you need is this and a jar/bag of kernels. If you love popcorn like my family does, then you cannot go wrong with this popper. Recommend." —Kay

Promising review: "I was prepared to hate this, but strangely, I don’t. It’s ridiculously useful and I actually resent it for being everything it says it is and more. If I could be half as useful as this thing I would be a billionaire. It toasts anything any size, produces perfect grilled cheese, and even cooks dino nuggets and makes them taste edible. Hopefully its longevity is as great as its versatility. Highly recommend." —Klj

29. cold brew coffee maker for those days where you can't pull yourself out of bed after a summer night on the town and consequently can't stop at Starbucks. I've been there, every day this week, actually. Add your coffee to the filter, brew for 24 hours, and voila, a perfect cold brew for the morning and five extra minutes of sleep.

Promising review: "This coffee maker is my BEST FRIEND! I use this every day, it's so easy to use! My coffee comes out perfect every time. I'm a cold coffee drinker and I put about 8–10 scoops of freshly ground coffee into the filter. I let it sit overnight and the next morning, I remove the filter and dump the grounds. It makes four days' worth of coffee and I love that it's ready to go for me, especially since I wake up at 4:50 a.m. and I need to make my coffee quickly! It's very easy to clean as well." —Panda
