(Mostly in teen rom coms) the entire school caring about the love lives of a few students. When I was in high school, I probably couldn’t have named everyone in my grade, much less told you everything going on in their lives
The Princess Bride. Not as many people know that it was actually a book first. In the book, the author interrupts the story with a bunch of asides, and the movie translated that flawlessly into the scenes with the kid and his grandpa telling him the story.
“Somebody to Love” in Ella Enchanted. I love Queen, but I’ll admit that a lot of the time I listen to the Anne Hathaway version instead of the Freddie Mercury one.
Cary Elwes and Robin Wright in The Princess Bride. There are many, many reasons that movie is such a household name, and they’re part of it. Plus, the “farmboy”/“as you wish” scene? Enough said.
The Little Prince. Even though it’s a children’s book, I didn’t read it until my French Lit class in high school. Reading it for the first time as an (almost) adult let me appreciate the subtle beauty of its message, some of which hit me hard. I would love to be able to feel that…
My answer is, always has been, and always will be Charlie Swan from Twilight. He was - all at the same time - a good parent, the only reasonable character, and the only thing holding those movies together.

Maddie Poppe (American Idol winner) does hilarious Instagram stories, especially when she’s in airports between flights. She’s super down to earth and a great person too!
For French class, I had to read Cyrano de Bergerac. Between the poetry, the drama, and the characters that were so easy to adore, I was hooked. My friends still make fun of me for how into that book I was.
