    1. Big Little Lies (2017–2019)

    HBO

    Big Little Lies follows the lives of five mothers — four of them are well off, the other one, not so much — in the aftermath of one of their husbands' death. What initially starts off as a "whodunnit" slowly turns into a tangled web of lies, deception, crime, and murder. So, if you want to see Nicole Kidman in her ORIGINAL ROLE as "wife of an asshole white man who ain't shit," then look no further.

    2. Unbelievable (2019)

    Netflix

    Unbelievable follows Marie Adler, who, after being bullied into recanting her rape accusation, is then charged with filing a false report. This series is based on "An Unbelievable Story of Rape," an award-winning article that documents the crimes of a serial rapist and the cops who didn't believe his victims in Washington and Colorado between 2008–2011. Move over, Det. Mendoza, because Dets. Rasmussen and Duvall have entered the chat.

    3. The Night Of (2016)

    The Night Of follows Nasir "Naz" Khan after a wild night of partying with a girl turns into a murder investigation — and he's the prime suspect. The case in this series is very similar to the case in The Undoing, but the way Jonathan is treated compared to how Naz is treated will ACTUALLY leave you undone.

    4. The Sinner (2017–present)

    USA

    The Sinner is an anthology series that follows Det. Harry Ambrose as he tries to get to the bottom of three very complex cases. In Season 1, he attempts to unearth why Cora Tannetti would stab a man to death with no motive. In Season 2, he tries to find out why a young boy named Julian Walker would poison his parents. And in Season 3, he investigates a fatal car accident that is WAY more than meets the eye. Det. Ambrose for SURE gives Det. Mendoza a run for his money.

    5. Succession (2018–present)

    Succession follows the trials and tribulations of the Roy family, which comprises several children, in-laws, and one estranged cousin who are all fighting for control of the family company. Basically, if Franklin Reinhardt had several bratty kids who wanted to take the legacy he built and make themselves in charge.

    6. Gossip Girl (2007–2012)

    Gossip Girl follows the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite — both the teenage children and their salacious parents. This is a bit lighter in tone than The Undoing, but I couldn't not include since Reardon and Constance Billard/St. Jude's are the same campus.

    7. How to Get Away with Murder (2014–2020)

    HTGAWM follows Annalise Keating — a top-notch defense attorney — and her five first-year associates as they solve saucy cases while also covering up the murder of AK's husband...and that's just Season 1! All I know is that if I'm ever in a pickle, I want Annalise Keating and Haley Fitzgerald on my defense team.

    8. Gone Girl (2014)

    Gone Girl follows Nick Dunne in the wake of his wife's disappearance, which actually turns into a hunt for his very-much-alive wife, Amy, who's attempting to frame him for her murder. Don't get me wrong, Grace and Jonathan had their issues, but I think Nick and Amy take the cake on most dysfunctional marriage.

    9. Defending Jacob (2020)

    Defending Jacob follows Andy and Laurie Barber as they stand by their son, Jacob, who's accused of murdering his classmate and friend. For all those people who believed that Henry could have been involved in Elena's murder, may I direct your attention to Jacob Barber.

    10. The Girl on the Train (2016)

    Universal Pictures

    The Girl on the Train follows divorcée Rachel Watson, who becomes a suspect in — and then gets entangled in the case of — Megan's murder. Oh, and Megan just so happened to be the ex-nanny of her ex-husband and his current wife. Aside from the recurring theme of gaslighting, Édgar Ramírez has a supporting role in this thriller.

    11. Sleeping with the Enemy (1991)

    20th Century Fox

    Sleeping with the Enemy follows Sara Waters — FKA Laura Burney — after she fakes her death in order to escape her abusive husband. But, since it's a movie, he finds her and chaos ensues. It's basically if that scene when Jonathan runs up on Grace at the beach house was two hours long instead of five minutes.

    12. I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020)

    I'm not gonna lie, I can't quite tell you what ITOET is about, but if you love that on-the-edge-of-your-seat feeling, then this movie is the flick for you.

    The Good Wife follows Alicia Florrick, who returns to work as a lawyer to support her family after her husband's sex scandal becomes public, which results in him going to jail and resigning as a D.A. My new favorite genre is women who carry the weight of the world on their backs after their no-shit husbands fuck things up and lose their jobs.

    Elite follows the scandalous lives of Madrid's teenaged/prep school elite. Same drama, different country.

    15. Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011)

    Martha Marcy May Marlene follows M^4 as she tries to assimilate back to regular life after spending years in a cult. The dream state which is this film is very similar to the sometimes-true/sometimes-imagined flashback scenes in The Undoing.

    Prodigal Son follows Malcolm Bright, a profiler who works for the NYPD. He learned his profiling skills from his father, Dr. Whitley, who also happens to be the most prolific serial killer in a generation. Talk about complex father-son relationships, amirite?

    The Fall follows DSI Stella Gibson — played by GILLIAN ANDERSON!! — as she investigates a serial killer in Belfast while simultaneously following Paul Spector in his descent into madness. Oh, and he's also the very same serial killer who Gibson is hunting. Oh, what a tangled web...

    18. The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)

    The Talented Mr. Ripley follows Tom Ripley — if that's even his real name — as he squeezes his way into the life of Dickie Greenleaf before taking over the life of Dickie Greenleaf. Those fascinated by sociopaths who will stop at NOTHING to keep up appearances — aka Jonathan Fraser's entire existence — need to queue this movie up pronto.

    19. Finally, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)

    Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is a dramatic retelling of the infamous Ted Bundy. So, for all of us who didn't believe Jonathan was the killer even though it was stated from the JUMP that he was the killer, this is the story of the original criminal who left us all bamboozled.
