I have been dedicating my time while driving to the wonders of podcasts, there is a good bunch of audible messages out there waiting to play ping pong with your brain - Bon Appetit's Pizza, Pizza! being a stellar favourite. As winter well and truly sets in, I would happily hunker down with Oprah's Michelle Obama interview and new episodes of This is Us but while I negotiate my hibernation schedule here are a few links that I hope are to your liking:
I’ve had a festering thought about what it means to get back on the saddle; inspired by my first spin class in over 2 years. Adrenaline pumped and so did my aspiration for regular fitness. I also pondered the price and quality difference between Nutella (my post workout chum) and its cheaper counterparts; so what if I like fake Nutella better than the original and other admissions that I justify to myself. I further wonder if Katie Holmes ever misses Dawson’s Creek, but in more topical news this is what I stumbled across on the internet lately:
Good morning Thursday, hold onto your suncream because it's nearly the weekend and professional weather peeps tell me that it will be a toasty one. My nordic skin only needs to wink at the sun and I morph into a burnt slice of bacon. In true food fashion, I once again kick this off by giving you the hottest chicken nugget link around. Not entirely hot off the press this week but a golden oldie comes in the form America's greatest chicken nugget hunt. Here's what my week looked like in the form of internet clicks:
I woke up to a twitter feed polluted by Made in Chelsea shenanigans so I stubbed my foot in the door and it was less painful. Although a vast amount of our population follow MIC, it never fails to baffle me that their source of entertainment comes in the form of an E4 reality show. Maybe it’s like choosing Cadbury’s when Lindt chocolate is on offer? It takes all kinds of people to keep the world spinning. As I fight the urge to not make this segment solely about Easter Eggs, I have other pressing matters to bring you so here goes:
I pulled my neck this week making the bed so that's where I am in life. Apart from making beds and pulling inconvenient muscles, my computer bid me adieu. Now I understand how the Prince from Cinderella must have felt: the abruptness and timing were unforgivable. Alas, I come pleading that we take everything a tad slower from here on in, although how much speed is really required for bed making?
Good riddance to a week that was riddled with confusion and fear. I'm still alive (albeit severely grayer) with no broken bones and a heartbeat for coffee. Hallelujah for the internet and the wonders it delivers. Here are some pointers for a less stressful week ahead:
Happy Monday lovely world! Here comes some of my weekly gems with the exception of one archived gem but it's all relative, I promise.
Nothing thrills me more on a Monday morning than fighting deadlines and temperamental wifi at the local coffee shop. I could work from the comforts of my home but the same four walls haven't got much to say in the realm of office chat.
The guy, or girl, who invented Happy Hour or Taco Tuesdays has nothing on me.
