Springin' Into Tuesday One Tweet At A Time

I woke up to a twitter feed polluted by Made in Chelsea shenanigans so I stubbed my foot in the door and it was less painful. Although a vast amount of our population follow MIC, it never fails to baffle me that their source of entertainment comes in the form of an E4 reality show. Maybe it’s like choosing Cadbury’s when Lindt chocolate is on offer? It takes all kinds of people to keep the world spinning. As I fight the urge to not make this segment solely about Easter Eggs, I have other pressing matters to bring you so here goes:

1. Gleason

With only 2 more screening days left to watch Gleason at Bertha DocHouse, I am instructing you to put on your skates, bag yourself popcorn, and Kleenex. Gleason is the powerful story of Steve Gleason, former NFL player, who at the age of 34 was diagnosed with motor neurone disease and given a prognosis of 2 to 5 years to live while at the same time his wife finds out she is pregnant with their first child. His intimate home videos are documented for his unborn son. Bertha DocHouse is the first cinema dedicated to documentary film, and if like me you are addicted to all storytelling mediums, it is one of the finest ways to stay informed and entertained - far from the reaches of Made in Chelsea.

2. Email responses to keep under your belt

Sorry, I didn’t know I was busy until I had to reply to your email. If you are in need of templates to excuse your tardy emailing then this New Yorker article hits the inbox nail on the head.

3. Toast it

No toaster. No problem. The following ways to make toast are pure genius. If prepared correctly the olive oil recipe will result in a large crouton. If you are not sold by the latter sentence then you’re not living your best life. Top tip: adapt the amount of oil according to your mood. Glugs are highly recommended to cure sadness and achieve happiness.

4. Feast on your life

How many times have you heard someone say that you must firstly love yourself before you can love others? Turns out it’s the correct way to do things around here and the late poetic powerhouse Derek Walcott writes it perfectly. Sit, Feast on your life.
