12 Ridiculous Celebrity Workout Videos You Probably Didn’t Know Existed

In the world of celebrity workout videos, both Cher and Mark Wahlberg were among the many celebs who tried to give Jane Fonda a run for her money.

    1. Cher: Cher Fitness – A New Attitude

    Via yesteryearsgoodies.ecrater.com

    Year released: 1991

Moments of ridiculousness: Cher's workout clothes. She is clearly wearing lingerie in one of the segments.

What’s not so ridiculous: Cher is actually the second Academy Award–winning actress to have a workout tape — the first is, of course, Jane Fonda.

    2. Alyssa Milano: Alyssa Milano's Teen Steam

    Via vhsarchive.blogspot.com

    Year released: 1988

Moments of ridiculousness: Alyssa sings the completely ‘80s cheesy theme song “Teen Steam" at the end of the video.

    3. Estelle Getty: Young at Heart - Body Conditioning with Estelle

    Year released: 1993

Moments of ridiculousness: Well, the video was created for seniors, so there are lots of jokes about being old and senior-citizen sex (basically an episode of The Golden Girls).

    4. Mark Wahlberg: The Marky Mark Workout

    Via clistcelebrityworkouts.blogspot.com

    Year released: 1993

Moments of ridiculousness: This video is an early ‘90s gem and that will leave you with some “good vibrations.” It has everything: bad acting, seductive whispering, Mark flirting with his costars, and of course, heavy use of early ‘90s slang. We also learn that Mark likes to “mack in the Jacuzzi” after a workout.

What’s not so ridiculous: Mark clearly knows what he is talking about and is 100% serious when discussing his workout regimen.

    5. Heather Locklear: Heather Locklear Presents Your Personal Workout

    Via lifelounge.com.au

    Year released: 1990

Moments of ridiculousness: Somehow this video managed to make Heather Locklear look unattractive!

    6. Jennie Garth: Jennie Garth's Body in Progress

    Via berm.co.nz

    Year released: 1992

Moments of ridiculousness: The intro sounds like it is trying to rip off the Beverly Hills, 90210 opening credits — and also the extended product-placement shot of Diet 7Up.

    7. Carmen Electra: Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease: In the Bedroom

    Via products.unbeatablesale.com

    Year released: 2007

Moments of ridiculousness: The Vegas bedroom segment. I am not sure I would qualify that as a workout, unless of course gyrating on a bed burns way more calories than I am aware of. Also, is she marketing this to 13-year-old boys, because I'm pretty sure they're not using this tape to work out to.

What’s not so ridiculous: This is part of a complete line of Carmen Electra aerobic striptease videos. So there is a market for them.

    8. Fabio: Fabio Fitness Video

    Via fabioifc.com

    Year released: 1993

Moments of ridiculousness: The many hair flips! Also, apparently Fabio requires a wind machine blowing through his hair as part of his workout.

    9. Paula Abdul: Paula Abdul's Get Up and Dance!

    Year released: 1995

Moments of ridiculousness: Dancing/working out to the song “YMCA.”

What’s not so ridiculous: As a professional dancer and choreographer, Paula is more than qualified to put together a tough workout.

    10. Lil' Cease: Lil' Cease Presents...HardBody Fitness

    Year released: 2008

Moments of ridiculousness: Um... This video is LOW budget. It is best summed up by this Amazon customer review:

“This is a real piece of crap. I rented it thinking there would be a workout in this somewhere. It's just a bunch of video of Lil Cease (and who remembers him being a rapper besides himself?) running around a gym doing a bunch of pushups on D-grade film. It looks like it's been filmed with a camera phone. I wish I could get my money back, I'm so offended by this, and I only rented it! If I could, it would be rated 0 out of 5 stars.”

    11. Claudia Schiffer: Perfectly Fit Buns

    Year released: 1995

Moments of ridiculousness: This video is almost too beautifully shot to be taken seriously, and also it’s hard to take advice from supermodels (I mean...they're already genetically blessed).

    12. La Toya Jackson: Step-Up Workout with La Toya Jackson

    Year released: 1993

Moments of ridiculousness: First of all, it’s La Toya Jackson. Second, despite the fact that this was shot in 1993, she manages to make it look like it’s 1986. Third, La Toya appears to not know what’s going on throughout most of the video.
