This Is The Cast Of The New "Jungle Book" Movie

Here's the "Bare Necessities" you'll be needing.

    Neel Sethi as Mowgli.

As the only live-action character in the movie, Neel Sethi will be taking on the role of man-cub Mowgli. The resemblance is uncanny! Not much is known about Sethi, and as he's still pretty young, this could be a breakout role for him. Let's hope he's perfected his jungle walk.

Ben Kingsley as the voice of Bagheera.

In the 1967 movie, Bagheera was the sensible and serious panther who became a guardian for Mowgli. We'll always remember Bagheera as the fun-sucker who was there to balance out Baloo's wild ways, but we loved him anyway for keeping the man-cub safe. In the 2016 adaptation, the voice of Bagheera will be provided by Ben Kingsley (Shutter Island, Ender's Game).

Bill Murray as the voice of Baloo.

Bill Murray will be behind the voice of everybody's favourite bear, Baloo. A dancing, singing, all-around fun bear who introduced the "Hakuna Matata" lifestyle waaaay before Timon and Pumba – what could be better than that? We look forward to hearing Bill's version of "Bare Necessities" too.

Idris Elba as the voice of Shere Khan.

Idris Elba will trade in being the good guy and play the voice of the biggest villain in the movie, Shere Khan. Khan was the tiger that gave every child nightmares, what with the fact he spent his entire time on screen chasing a poor boy lost in the jungle. Boo, hiss, etc.

Scarlett Johansson as the voice of Kaa.

Scarlett Johansson will take up the role of the hypnotic snake, Kaa. Everybody will remember the slimy villain who tried on numerous occasions to ~eat~ Mowgli by putting him in a trance. Pleasant chap. In the original Disney movie, Kaa was actually male, but director Jon Favreau didn't want a male-dominated cast and so chose Scarlett for the role instead.

Christopher Walken as the voice of King Louie.

Everybody remembers the ape that swung about singing one of the catchiest songs in Disney history, and now Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction, Catch Me If You Can) will bring to life the voice of orangutan King Louie. Wonder if we'll be treated to a rendition of "I Wan'na Be Like You"...

Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of Akela.

Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Once Upon a Time) will lend his voice to the brief role of Akela. For those that don't remember, Akela was a wolf whose family found Mowgli in the jungle as a baby and raised him as one of their own. Unfortunately, the wolves were goddamn scared of Shere Khan (who can blame them) and so sent Mowgli packing with Bagheera.

Lupita Nyong'o as the voice of Raksha.

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o will play the voice of Raksha, the mother wolf. Similar to Akela, the role will be brief, so it's likely we'll only get to hear Lupita's beautiful voice at the beginning of the movie.

Emjay Anthony as the voice of Gray.

The eldest baby wolf of Akela and Raksha, Gray (or Gray Brother as he's referred to in the original) will be voiced by Emjay Anthony (Chef, The Divergent Series: Insurgent). Similar to the rest of his family, Gray should only be a brief role – but who cares when you're that cute?

The Jungle Book is due for release on 15 April 2016.
