I gained over 50 pounds, high blood pressure, chronic stress, acid reflux, menstrual problems, and more. I was having uncontrollable panic attacks. I had to change jobs to save myself. I moved to a teacher specialist job and my health improved dramatically!!!

I use a file crate with numbered folders for extra copies of assignments and handouts. When students are absent or need an extra copy- they check the poster on the wall and see what number folder they need. Then they can get an extra copy. It has saved my life! I teach middle school-…

Organizational tip- I made this to hold copies for the week so I don't have piles of paper everywhere! I got magazine folder/holders from Ikea and order Harry Potter scrapbook paper. Add some Mod-podge and done!

Percy Jackson series- all of the series. The chapter titles are witty and it is such a great tale of friendship with Greek mythology added in. Also the Chronicles of Narnia. When I read it as an adult there was so many themes I didn't pick up on as a kid.

The Harry Potter series- I know it sounds silly but it helped escape into a magical world where my fears couldn't consume me. When my anxiety starts to take control I can dive into the magical world and fight along Harry, Ron and Hermonie against Voldmort and my anxiety.

In my state we are not allowed to strike- so we haven't seen a pay raise in 5 years and that included cost of living increase. Other jobs you at least get a cost of living or performance raise- nope for us!
