17 Movies That Would Have Been Over In 5 Minutes In 2017

Cell phones ruined movies, TBH.

2. Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

TriStar Pictures

Jonah totally would have just made his dad an online dating profile instead of calling into a talk show and then have Sam and Annie casually meet for coffee rather than plan an elaborate trip to the top of the Empire State Building.

3. Psycho (1960)

Universal Pictures

Marion probably would have just found a hotel online and would never have randomly stopped at the creepy Bates Motel. Or she would have at least looked up the Bates Motel and seen that it had a suspicious lack of reviews.

8. Romeo and Juliet (1968, 1996, 2013)

BHE Films

Texting would have solved literally all of their problems. Juliet could have texted Romeo to tell him that she was going to fake her death, and they could have planned their getaway and lived happily ever after.

9. You've Got Mail (1998)

Warner Bros.

Kathleen and Joe definitely would have met on a dating site, not in a chatroom. So obviously their identities would never have been a secret, and they probably never would have gotten together, TBH.

10. Fight Club (1999)

20th Century Fox

Tyler would never have been able to save Marla because she would have called the Narrator on his cell phone. Obviously Tyler never would have seen the call and picked up the phone.

11. Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

20th Century Fox

If Miranda were living in 2017, she definitely would have googled Mrs. Doubtfire before hiring her and been pretty suspicious when she found that Mrs. Doubtfire literally didn't exist.

12. Forrest Gump (1994)

Paramount Pictures

Forrest could have looked up directions to Jenny's house on his phone. He never would have sat on that bench telling his story and waiting forever, just to find out he was around the corner from her house.

13. My Cousin Vinny (1992)

Palo Vista Productions

Are there any convenience stores without security cameras in 2017? There definitely would be footage proving that Billy and Stan were innocent of any crime worse than accidentally stealing a can of tuna.

15. Die Hard (1988)

20th Century Fox

Detective McClane would have called 911 on his cell phone way before he had the chance to kill Tony and take his radio. Law enforcement probably would have gotten there way sooner and saved a lot of lives.

16. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986)

Paramount Pictures

Ferris' parents would definitely have called his cell phone to check in on him and been a bit confused when they heard a literal parade in the background.
