Just A Few Of The '80s Movie Characters Responsible For Our Sexual Awakenings

*"Take My Breath Away" by Berlin plays softly in the distance.*

We recently asked members of our BuzzFeed Community which '80s movie character(s) were responsible for their ~sexual awakenings,~ and the answers DID NOT disappoint:

    1. Westley, The Princess Bride

    20th Century Fox

Did I spend hours day-dreaming about him while playing dress up in my mom's high heels? Yes, yes I did. Is that also how I accidentally broke my nose? Yes, yes it was.

    2. Grace Jones, A View To Kill

When I saw her for the first time, it almost stopped my little bisexual heart.

    3. Eddie Valiant, Who Framed Roger Rabbit

    Buena Vista Pictures Distribution

A strange one for sure, but he was my first gay crush. While all the other boys were oogling Jessica Rabbit, I was delighted to catch Detective Valiant with his pants down.

    4. Brand, The Goonies

    Warner Bros.

Specifically when he puts Andy's hands around his neck and kisses her, instead of untying her. DAYUM. It started my life-long crush on Josh Brolin.

    5. Jake Ryan, Sixteen Candles

    Universal Pictures

I was in the "questioning" category right before I saw this movie, but the minute the wedding guests drove away and Jake was standing there...well let's just say I can't think of it without a little tear in my eye and a semi-boner.

    6. Leia AND Han, The Empire Strikes Back

That passionate kiss. When he says "You're trembling," and she responds, “I’m not trembling.” Well girl, I was!

    7. Jeff Goldblum, The Fly

    20th Century Fox

I mean, just LOOK at him. Still makes me thirsty, if we're being honest.

    8. John Bender, The Breakfast Club

    Universal Pictures

Hot. Absolute. DAMN. How did this character EVER have me convinced Judd Nelson was a babe? I don't know how he did it, but he did.

    9. Billy Dee Williams, The Empire Strikes Back

    Lucas Film

Seeing this man was truly life-changing. Don't get me wrong, I love Donald Glover, but there's only one Lando Calrissian in my heart.

    10. Valerie, Earth Girls Are Easy

    Vestron Pictures

So, when I was REALLY little I first watched Beetlejuice and thought, hands down, Geena Davis was the most beautiful human I’d ever seen. Then I saw her in this movie and I fell in all kinds of love with her. She was my sexual awakening and my lesbian awakening all at once!

    11. Indiana Jones, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

    Paramount Pictures

Specifically, the scene when he goes over to Willie's bedroom and they're doing their whole flirt-fighting bit, and he eats that apple in front of her. God, that man looked good.

    12. Marty McFly, Back to the Future

    Universal Pictures

I was 11 when it came out and I thought he was the sexiest person ever. My friends and I would talk about him and get all fangirl-y. Just thinking about it now makes me laugh.

    13. Princess Aura, Flash Gordon

    Universal Pictures

It JUST fits in as an '80s movie, and this woman changed me forever.

    14. Jareth, Labrynth

    TriStar Pictures

Though it's problematic to watch now, he was so sensual with Sarah, and he had a HUGE bulge in his leggings that I could NOT take my eyes off of. I had no clue what any of those feelings were at the time, but I watched that movie on REPEAT.

    15. The Kid, Purple Rain

    Warner Bros.

Prince was an absolute genius and a great dancer. I will never forget the first time I watched him dance to “Computer Blue." The Kid had moves, and a cool purple motorcycle, too!

    16. Dallas Winston, The Outsiders

    Warner Bros.

The whole cast was cute, but he was the bad boy that I was into. I still think he looked amazing in that!

    17. Kyle Reese, Terminator

    Orion Pictures

Oh man, he was SO dreamy. I’d travel back in time so I could have HIS children.

    18. Marnie, Twins

    Universal Pictures

Arnold Schwarzenegger's character says he’s going to sleep on the floor, so Marnie crawls into the bed. Then she says, “Oh no, the bed is lumpy,” and has to sleep on the floor with him. Hottest PG movie ever.

    19. Steff, Pretty in Pink

    Paramount Pictures

I couldn't possibly care less about Blaine or Duckie. To this day, I get butterflies in my stomach whenever I watch him in that movie.

    20. Maverick, Top Gun

    Paramount Pictures

That silhouetted sex scene is what it’s all about.

    21. Denzel Washington, The Mighty Quinn

Honestly, Denzel Washington in ANYTHING, but specifically in this movie. He looked amazing in his white uniform.

    22. David, The Lost Boys

    Warner Bros.

I’m sorry, but you can't blame me for crushing on a badass vampire.

    23. Bruce Wayne, Batman

    Warner Bros. Pictures

I was only about nine-years-old, but that’s when I knew I really, really, REALLY liked boys. I’ve been obsessed with Batman since then.

    24. JD, Heathers

    New World Pictures

But only in the beginning of the movie, before his character went TOTALLY off the deep end.
