Senator Mary Landrius' Big Diss Of The International Adoptee Community
International adoptees are being deported. Senator Mary Landrieu and crew, who have been championing the Children In Families First Act (CHIFF), don't care.

He's totally swoony and has really great hair.
Land of Gazillion Adoptees (LGA), the adoptee organization founded by and for adoptees, announced today that it will support Senator Mary Landrieu's signature adoption legislation - Children In Families First (CHIFF). With its public endorsement, LGA becomes the fourth adoptee organization to sign on.
We've speculated before whether or not Senator Mary Landrieu's atrocious legislation called Children in Families First (CHIFF) is anti-queer. Considering the number of anti-gay parenting lawmakers whose endorsements CHIFF has, the question isn't far fetched. These lawmakers would NEVER support gay adoptive parents. Now, we're wondering whether or not CHIFF supporters have become a bit, ah, unhinged. Check it, and ask yourself, "Are these CHIFF supporters just a bunch of dicks or something else?" (P.S. After reading this, you may think we're being petty and mean. We're not. Trust us. What we offer from these two individuals is nothing in comparison to what they've said to some adoptees and others who don't support CHIFF.)
How does one decide to "rehome" their adopted kids after spending literally tens of thousands of dollars to get them? How do these adoptive parents treat their adopted kids as though they're commodity that can be bought and discarded like cheap dolls from the dollar store? What kind of agency decides these adults are worthy to be called parents? And why the H-E-Double-Toothpick are lawmakers not making this disgusting "rehoming" practice illegal? WTF. Seriously. The following people have walked away from their children and haven't received a slap on the wrist, even though they deserve way more.
These Black women are awesome and you should totally check out their work.
Adoptees get asked the most asinine questions by total strangers and sometimes even by members of their own adoptive family. Generally, because adoptees are good people, they refrain from saying what they really want to say. And if adoptees are like us, they stop short of uttering equally ridiculous sentiments, such as the following. (A big thanks to Christina Majaski, the snarkiest adoptee blogger out there, for compiling these with us.)
In response to the "37 Ignorant Things These Sisters Commonly Hear About Adoption," which was done by an adoptive parent, a Tumblr called "Sh*tty things adoptive families say to adoptees" was created. The submissions, which all come from adoptees, are heartbreaking. Below are a few of them. You read the rest of them here: youshouldbegrateful.tumblr.com
In the early to mid 2000s, Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 Lakes, was “jokingly” referred to as the "Land of 10,000 Korean Adoptees.” There literally were 10,000 or so Korean adoptees, aka KADs, living in the state. Many of those 10,000 KADs were raised by their adoptive parents in rural parts of the predominantly White MN. Imagine growing up in that: You Know You Grew Up As A Korean Adoptee Dude In Rural Minnesota:
When most people think about adoption, they imagine cute babies/kids needing homes and happy adoptive parents readily willing to give the children "forever families." Unfortunately, this "happily ever after" narrative isn't fully accurate, especially for adoptees who at times face the most peculiar obstacles.
