Promising review: "I bought this to replace my stove. I can grill in it; fry fish; make soups, stews, and omelets; steam vegetables; and bake in it. I love it. It's easy on the electric bill and doesn't heat up the house." —William Thomas

    Emma Lord / BuzzFeed, Amazon

BuzzFeed editor Emma Lord says: "I recently purchased this because it was my cheapest option for making zoodles, and also because my apartment is the size of a shoebox and there was no room for anything bigger. I LOVE how easy it is to swap out the caps to do other things, too — I've started grating my own cheeses and feel very fancy. But mostly I just love that it's very safe to use (it comes with a finger guard!), super easy to figure out, very compact, and even has measurements on the inside of the cup if you're ever portioning things out for a recipe."

Promising review: "LOVE THIS. I absolutely love this. So far I've used the thicker spiralizer, two of the grater things, and then the juicer. I love how easy this makes keeping everything together. And it's sharp so it actually cuts through things without you needing to work super hard to do it. The only thing I don't love is that the spiralizers are a bit hard to clean, but I guess that's with all of them? Not sure, this is the first I've owned. But, overall I'd recommend it :)" —Amazon Customer

I have tried EVERY method in the book for hard boiling. This cooks them perfectly — no gray rings. They peel with no struggles at all! The only drawback is that you can only do six at a time, but it goes so quickly that I don't even mind that all. Easy to use, easy to clean. The Grommet

Promising review: "I have tried many different kitchen gadgets said to provide a safe, reproducible, easy method of reducing foods to thinner sections. Most were disappointments. I like this product because it does all of the above without reducing my hand to paper-thin pieces. I have been unable to filet skinless chicken breasts into thinner sections for quick cooking to top a summer salad. This works well but has some limits in the shape and size of the item being sliced. I'm glad I got it." —Steve

    8. A knife specifically designed to make a clean cut through tomatoes so you don't have the juice squirting out everywhere, making a mess in your kitchen. You'll be surprised just how much faster you can chop up the tomatoes you need for your recipe.

Promising review: "I love this knife! I stumbled upon a description when I was shopping for a sushi knife. It was so cheap, I decided to take a chance. Wow. It is such a great little knife. Yes, it works perfectly on soft tomatoes. But, to be honest, I use it for many other fruits and vegetables. It is amazingly sharp, the serrated edge is very effective, and it has a great feel in my hand." —Jane S.

    9. A strainer designed to make draining pasta a snap because all you have to do is clip it to the pot and dump the water out.

    Amazon

Promising review: "This makes it so much easier to dump out water when making pasta of any type. It fits very well to most pan sizes and is dishwasher safe. My 9-year-old granddaughter can now dump the water out of the mac and cheese easily. This is a must-have for people who make pasta of any kind that requires dumping out hot water. It is made out of a type of rubber so I’m not sure if I would use it for hot grease, but it may be OK for that too since a lot of spatulas are made from similar material." —Bill McNeil

Get it from Amazon for $13.99 (available in five colors).

    10. A garlic-prepping set because if you're like me and HATE mincing garlic with a burning passion (don't ask me why; I have no idea) then what you need to do, instead of not cooking dinner, is use the peeler and mincer to get perfect garlic in seconds.

Promising review: "I LOVE this product! I like the size of the garlic chunks that you get with this masher, and I LOVE how easy it is to clean compared to other garlic mashers. I love that you don't need to use your fingers to peel the garlic. My mom has been cooking with garlic with every meal for 50+ years and wants one now too!!" —Ann M

    11. A Ninja Foodi that's basically the Mary Poppins of kitchen appliances because it can do it all. OK... *Deep Breath* This appliance pressure cooks, steams, slow cooks, sautés, air fries, bakes, roasts, broils, and more all in one machine.

    Model using the Foodi
Model using tongs to move ingredients around in the Foodi
    Amazon

And one of the most important facts is that the Foodi can cook up to 70% faster than traditional cooking methods. And the combo of pressure cooker and air fryer mean that you can make a casserole for dinner and then make sure the top layer is all crispy with the air fry setting. It also thaws frozen foods, meaning you don't have to plan you meals ahead of time.

Promising review: "I’m a huge fan of anything that saves me time! The Ninja Foodi not only saves time but it makes cooking tastier! I don’t have a lot of counter space, so I was concerned how I’d make this work but as the pictures show, it does. Don’t get me wrong, it has a definite presence, but the fact that I can store both lids on and pushed back under the cabinets makes it so much better. I use it daily. Soft-boiled eggs are a dream in this things and the peels basically fall off. That in itself is a game changer. Having the air fryer lid and the pressure cooker lid is the only way to go. I’m not interested in chicken if I can’t crisp it up after pressure cooking it from frozen in mere minutes. Amazing!!!" —Marla

Get it from Amazon for $111.99.

    12. A veggie chopper, slicer, and spiralizer because chopping takes an absurd amount of time. Like, seriously, when I read a recipe and it says it will take 20 minutes, they're not taking my slow chopping skills into account. This gadget will ~cut~ that chopping time in half.

It comes with a small-dice blade, large-dice blade, spiral blade, and ribbon blade that are interchangeable and gives you the option to chop, slice, and julienne vegetables. Plus, you get a lid with a built-in chop and a storage container to hold the veggies.

Promising review: "I’ve had this for a couple of months now, and it makes my life SOOOOO much easier. Anything I’ve thrown at it, it’s sliced with ease. Tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, onions, celery, carrots...EASY! I even use to chop the eggs when I make potato salad now since it’s so easy and makes perfect slices.

"What used to take me three to four mins chopping up an onion and then a face full of ruined makeup, now takes less than one minute and no makeup ruined. The blades are SHARP, definitely be careful when removing them. But the lock on the tray makes it easy and so far I haven’t hurt myself with it. Typically, I’ll use it and then rinse out the top and put it in the dishwasher. It’s been through on the top rack well over 20 times now and still looks brand new. If something ever happens to this one, I’ll be back to get another one. It saves me so much time when cooking dinner!" —Macygrey09

    13. A lasagna trio pan with three different sections so you can make three different types of lasagna at once. If you have people with varying food allergies and likings, you'll be so thankful you don't have to spend the extra time making a different meal for each person.

Promising review: "As someone who has a child (now a teenager) who will not eat any form of cheese, this pan is amazing! I typically avoid making any food that has cheese mixed into it, but now I can make him a section without cheese, and the rest of us our regular cheesy goodness. Another benefit to this pan is how well the portions slice. One cut with the spatula gives you a perfectly formed square. Each section makes four regular-sized portions for our family." —thelastcoyote101

    14. An air fryer that once you try, you'll wonder how you've lived so long without this magical device in your life. Not only can it "fry" french fries, meat, or veggies, but it can also heat up leftovers in minutes — leaving them just as crispy as when you first ate them. And that, my friends, is what I like to call a game changer.

    The air fryer

    Hannah Loewentheil / BuzzFeed

BuzzFeed writer Hannah Loewentheil says: "I'd been contemplating buying an air fryer for quite some time, but it wasn't until I found myself cooking every night with my family due to COVID-19 that I finally decided it was the right time to get one. Friends of mine were raving about their new Instant Vortex Plus 6-in-1 Air Fryer, so after reading similar feedback on Amazon, I decided it looked like a winner. And it happens to be made by the same company that makes the crowd-favorite Instant Pot. I figured I would be using this appliance primarily as an air fryer, but as an added bonus, it can also roast, broil, bake, reheat, and dehydrate food.

"I've had this air fryer for about three weeks now, and I can honestly say it's become the hero of my kitchen. It preheats quickly, it's large enough to hold a good amount of food at once, it's easy to clean, and it makes food taste crispy on the outside and moist on the inside without any oil. I've been using my air fryer to make vegetables just about every night and it makes them taste so good. If you're cooking for kids, picky eaters, or you just don't get so excited about eating vegetables, the air fryer could be perfect for you. If you like chicken, the air fryer might change your life, and I don't mean that to be dramatic. The air fryer produces restaurant-quality chicken that tastes absurdly decadent, except there's no oil involved in the cooking — just air. We also tried making sesame chicken in the air fryer using boneless skinless chicken thighs. The sesame chicken tasted almost identical to my favorite Chinese takeout, and it had nothing to do with my cooking skills. Thanks to the air fryer, the chicken gets so crispy. I couldn't believe I made this at home!!"

Plus, the tray catches all the grease, and it's dishwasher safe!

Promising review: "This is the best little gadget I have tried in a long time. I lay a paper towel on top and fold to drape over the edges to catch the splatters, program for one minute per slice of bacon, and that is it. If you have a full rack, 12 slices, you will take the rack out, remove the ones that are done, put back in, cook for additional one minutes until all are to your satisfaction. You can put the gadget into the dishwasher or wash in good soapy water and have it ready for the next use." —G. Carver

Promising review: "These things are fantastic. I am a total klutz in the kitchen. A complete noncook. And yet two poached eggs came out perfectly the first time I used these little beauties. A squirt of Pam in each cup, crack and drop the egg in, set them on the turntable of my 1,100-watt microwave, cover them with a paper towel, and 60 seconds later I had two completely delicious, wonderfully done poached eggs. Voilà! If I can do it, anyone can... Boy, am I impressed!!!" —Leland C. Sheppard

Promising review: "Who writes a review about beans? Somebody who loves beans but had given up on them, until now. This is a great product. Canned beans from my local supermarket are always a disappointment, so I stopped getting them. I don't have time to cook beans myself, but A Dozen Cousins beans are fresh and taste terrific. I've been trying to avoid packaged, processed foods but the natural ingredients make these different. I can feel good about eating them. The beans are whole and not mashed up liked in cans. All of the varieties are seasoned well and versatile. I've had them on their own, in salads, and in wrap sandwiches. Do yourself a favor and order some. You won't regret it." —Amazon Customer

    the InstantPot
    Amazon

It's a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté pan, yogurt maker, and food warmer all rolled into one snazzy appliance. (Check out our full review of the Instant Pot!)

Promising review: "I absolutely despise spending a lot of time in the kitchen after work. I am tired, just want to pour a glass of wine, and binge-watch Supernatural. My boyfriend can't cook to save his life, so that isn't much help either. I'd feel better eating something created out of real, edible foods rather than microwaved in a pouch with fake cheese, so I cook even when I stay over at his house. Just when I was pondering the option of breaking up and finding a man who can cook (not really), INSTANT POT HAPPENED! Dinner is done and ready to eat every time in less than an hour. Sometimes WAY less than an hour. I can't believe I survived 30 years without one! It would have been AMAZING back when I was in college! I am constantly learning new things I can whip up (sometimes trial and error, sometimes recipe books). I can throw frozen chicken breasts in it, seasoning, just hit poultry setting, adjust the time up a bit, and boom. Super-tender, amazing chicken. Something about handling raw chicken makes me too disgusted to eat it once it's cooked, so being able to throw it in frozen is such a relief." —Sunahm

    22. An EZ Off jar opener, because I can't be the only one who's abandoned making dinner and simply ordered takeout because I couldn't get a jar open.

This little gadget can not only open jars, but also other hard lids (like on plastic bottles). Just put it in the corner and twist for easy opening.

Promising review: "I bought this last year and have used it many times on many different lids, even use it to open gallon milk jugs when those pesky plastic attachments just won't seem to give. I haven't found anything I try that it won't open for me. No more banging on the counter, just hold it under my cabinet and slid it in the V-shaped opening, give it a little twist to open, hardly any effort at all. It was easy to attach under the cabinet; I put mine so the wide opening faces forward. I personally think every house should have one of these." —Addie

    23. A hand-powered food chopper so you can stop pretending that those tears are caused by the onions your chopping and not the reality that you're crying because it takes so dang long to chop said onions. reviewer showing before with big pieces of onion in the chopper

Promising review: "This is an absolutely wonderful product and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't like to spend time chopping their veggies. I was awestruck by how powerful and simple the device is. It has very sharp blades. It is very easy to pull the handle all the way. I thought it might be tiring to keep pulling the handle but it wasn't. It was surprisingly very easy. I used it to chop up onions and tomatoes. This is a small device. I would say you could easily chop up one small/medium-sized onion with it or half of a large-sized onion at a time. It take about five to six pulls and 30 seconds to get absolutely finely chopped onions. You can make a puree/salsa of the tomatoes. Obviously, you can't chop the tomatoes, which is understandable. The product is also very easy to wash. All in all, I loved this device and will be using it very often! :) I think it's a must-buy for people who want to cut their veggies efficiently." —Lavanya

Promising review: "I use this grill daily, sometimes twice a day. I can make pork chops for dinner in seven minutes and those cooking plates are very easy to clean. I can have crispy bacon in four minutes, burgers in five minutes, steaks in four minutes. I really like being able to prep and cook dinner in less than 10 minutes. We are eating real food as opposed to fast food more often because this machine makes dinner easy. Sorry, McDonald's, but I'm spending my $20 on steaks instead of your burgers and fries. This grill heats up quickly, cooks evenly, is easy to clean, and is inexpensive. The instructions have a good amount of information on the cooking times of various items. I would definitely recommend this grill to friends; in fact, my mother recommended it to me." —Kindle Customer

Promising review: "We love this rice maker! Prep time in just minutes... This has saved us so much time, especially when we need dinner done quickly! The rice comes out fully cooked... In the beginning, it may take a few tries, since all microwaves are different, (setting at 800) as recommended, you'll eventually know what amount of rice goes with what amount of water, etc.... I add salt to taste and a teaspoon of olive oil, and it comes out delish! When done, just turn it over on your serving plate or just serve it directly from the container... Afterward, just pop in the dishwasher, no hard rice scraping to do. Highly recommend!" —Ani

Instead of chopping up my fresh herbs and scraping them into whatever dish I'm making — I just hold the herbs over the dish and clip away. Fast, convenient, no mess, no fuss. In the morning, when I'm preparing a fresh salad to take to work, instead of having to drag out the knife and cutting board I just snip the fresh basil into the salad. If you flip the cover of the scissors around, the slotted side slides out the bits stuck in the scissors. Quick, easy, and no waste. Love it!" —Amazon Customer

    Amazon

Promising review: "This has been a total lifesaver! Kids LOVE this, and I love that it takes only three minutes to make and has hardly any cleanup. We love this product and have bought multiple ones. The only negative is that the ramen packages from Japan and Korea are too large for this size. It's meant more for smaller Top Ramen and Maruchan brands, not so much the Sapporo Ichiban or Nong Shim ramen brands, etc. We end up having to break them up on squeezing the excess of the dry ramen in vertically to get it in totally." —kimchic

    29. A nonstick five-compartment skillet here to transform how you make dinner, because you can put different components of the meal into each different section and cook them at the same time. Not only does this save the number of pans that you have to use, but it also ensures you're only using one burner on your stove.

Plus, it's dishwasher and oven safe.

Promising review: "Now that I have cooked a few meals with this pan, I can honestly say that I will no longer be needing all my other pans. It just does it all. Cooking multiple ingredients at the same time and then infusing them together to mix the flavors is something that I have never been able to do before. Keep the pan at a medium heat to always get the best cook, because foods cook differently, and you can take your time in preparing your meal. I recommend this to pretty much anyone that likes to cook and mostly to the ones that dread it!" —Dan S

Promising review: "Do you eat a lot of cauliflower? Or anything with a stalk? If you do, it's totally worth it to buy this doodad. I can literally chop up a head of cauliflower in two minutes, whereas I used to struggle for quite a bit longer with a knife." —Ashley M.

    31. A microwave pasta cooker, because waiting for water to boil is the WORST part of making pasta. What's the saying about watching paint dry? Well, when you're hungry, boiling water is worse than that.

Plus, it's super easy to use. Use measure how much pasta you want to cook using the serving size holes in the top of the container. Then add water to the level etched on the side of the container. With the lid off, heat the container in the microwave. One serving usually takes about 12 to 13 minutes. Then put the lid on, hold the sides, and pour the water out. (This part will be very hot.)

Promising review: "This works perfectly. I was very skeptical, but it actually works much better than I expected. I am going to put this one in our RV and purchase the family-size one for our home. I always stayed away from pasta when in the RV because of the steam caused when boiling large amounts of water and then having to wash a large pot in a small sink. Pasta will be back on the menu now that I have found this amazing product." —Amazon Customer

    32. A StirMate automatic pot stirrer that'll basically be your sous-chef when you're in a rush and trying to tackle multiple steps in the recipe at the same time. This genius device can keep watch on the pot while you focus on chopping those veggies you need in the next step.

The device self-adjusts to fit pots from 6–12 inches in diameter and 3–9 inches in depth. The motor will stir for up to 13 hours per charge and then only takes 30 minutes to recharge.

Promising review: "I love this device. It will slave over the stove stirring your soups, sauces, and candies all day without a complaint or tiring. Now I cook things that I enjoyed serving and eat but hated all that stirring. No more burnt pots and ruined recipes due to under-stirring. It’s a little costly, but once you use it, you will never be without it. I may even buy another one to handle all of my stirring. This would also make a perfect gift." —Steve Bruss

Promising review: "For years I would buy those metal fan-like steamers that adjusted to the size of the pot; a good concept but the fins would always fall off in short order, and they really were kind of a pain to clean (plus you had to clean the pot too!). This steamer, on the other hand, is ideal for me. It is the perfect size for a single serving, and best of all it's made for the microwave and not a pot on the stove top. Cleaning is a breeze and I usually hand clean it so it's ready for another meal right away. It does take a few tries to figure out the timing for each type of vegetable, but that's OK — they come out crisp and fresh tasting. I'll never buy another metal steamer again. :-)" —dvd

    35. Gobble, a food subscription box that sends you a box filled with dinners that only take 15 minutes to make. Yes, that's right, only 15 minutes. Many of the ingredients already come precooked so you can have a delicious meal faster than it would take for delivery to arrive.

You can select what meals you want on their website, and they even have low-carb and vegetarian options. Then the box will arrive at your door weekly with instructions on how to get it ready in 15 minutes or less.

BuzzFeed Shopping editor Elizabeth Lilly says: "Behold my beautiful shrimp dish that I whipped up in a mere 20 minutes and even my Southern mama (a tough critic who often feeds me veggies in fritters and bread) raved about! After my Gobble box delivered, I, naturally, was served a Facebook ad about Gobble with a promise of 15-minute meals. This recipe card for Honey Harissa Shrimp didn’t specifically say it would take me 15 minutes to make, but I timed it nonetheless (also I had about a ~45 minute window before my next meeting to cook and then eat). I was able to whip up this meal like a fire was lit underneath me (again, my schedule; plus I was on the verge of hanger) and clean up after myself on the way.

"The packing of individual ingredients were easy to open (not always the case with meal kits!) and there was plenty of the marinade left to drizzle over my plated lunch. I rarely have dressing/sauces/condiments left over in meal kits because I like my food *really* saucy. So this was a wonderful little side benefit! Did I mention that this was my first time marinating shrimp? And this was probably only my third time actually even cooking shrimp! It also made two generous servings of lunch, even though my mom had mentally prepared to have to maybe fix herself something else for lunch. Out of other meal kits I’ve tried, I’ve definitely been left with meager portions (guilty parties rhyme with Stew Bacon). So score one for Gobble in comparison to basically other meal kit I've tried."
