I see I am looking at the wrong pose. But I have to second that a straight back might look a bit different than you're used to but what is being shown here is non-injurious.
As someone who carries a lot of extra weight in my middle, I am very protective of my lower back and sometimes being completely straight puts a huge amount of strain. I am not an expert but I trust that when something is causing my body pain, I should listen to it rather than strictly…Â
I have struggled with trying to get my rotund, buxom body to do the step one leg back while keeping the other in place and vice versa. This is a doable, reasonable solution for me. I have been longing to see how or if it could be done, thank you for giving me this option.
Update-duh, clearly I haven't read it but really should have a long time ago. In my defence I teach kindergarten so it would not be appropriate material for my work age group. Still should have read it by now.
