What 2nd movie? I refuse to remember that abomination. It literally yeeted itself out of my brain. But the new show is definitely better than that unfashionable turd.

Well, the "what's coming next" bit after the credits of the 2nd episode seems to show a lot of what the old SATC was blending nicely with the reality of being in your 50's. Plus it is nice knowing more main viewpoints from people of color are going to be the norm in the show.
