The US is just starting to leap into the 2000's with chip and pin cards. You only have to sign for a true CREDIT card currently, but DEBIT has been a pin card from the beginning.

That isn't true at all. And if all you can seem to find in the US is horrible Hershey's chocolate you're just not looking. Even in the grocery store checkout lane candy display there's better chocolate.
