Let them know that they're going to be okay, and no matter what, you'll be there from them. Let them know that you understand if they can't do things and be there to talk to them if they want to.

My therapist suggested this, I always find it helpful to think of things from a third person perspective, so if a friend was feeling stupid or worthless, would I say 'yeah you are pretty stupid and worthless' or would I say the opposite. We are often way more harsh with ourselves…Â
