This Cartoonist Illustrates What Dating As A Millennial Is Like, And Honestly, She's Not Wrong

"At the stroke of midnight when I'm drunk and alone, I think of you."

Recently, I was scrolling through my Instagram Explore page when I came across @auntsarahdraws, an illustrator whose adorable little comics seemed to perfectly encapsulate my sad, twentysomething dating life.

So if you're also a millennial who's currently in the throes of dating, chances are you'll find most of these comics pretty relatable.

Sarah Kempa, the New York City-based illustrator behind the account, said she finds a lot of inspiration in her own dating life and those of her friends.

However: "Many cartoons are also very generalized or exaggerated to a place so others can relate." Kempa told BuzzFeed.

"I also find a lot of inspiration (both general and dating) within movies or books I grew up with, and enjoy reimagining those scenes," Kempa said.

For example, Disney movies make frequent appearances.

Still, Kempa does more than just illustrate relationship woes: "I also enjoy exploring other themes through cartooning such as 'existential crises', little anxieties, and more."

Ghosting is a common theme, too:

But mostly, Kempa's cartoons serve as reminders that you're not alone in your ~dating woes~:

And they show that all of us really do think the same things:

So we might as well laugh about them!!!!!!!!!

Be sure to follow Sarah Kempa on Instagram and Medium to keep up with her latest cartoons!!!
