It’s also a red flag when the kid is getting into your things immediately after meeting you and the parent says nothing. I assume (and I’m usually correct) that they will mishandle and damage my things with zero remorse, or even steal my things.
When they say they don’t see extremely horrible behaviors at home. They’re either lying or give them everything they want so they don’t throw a fit. Either way, that parent isn’t going to be much help to you in dealing with their child.
I met my now-husband at a club in college. I was pretty intoxicated (as was he) and dancing with him when I realized my skirt was riding up. I only noticed because he was trying to nicely pull it back down to where it should’ve been. I knew then that I wanted to get to know him outside…Â
They start off seeming like best partner in the world, saying things you thought were only said in movies. They make you think their world revolves around you- that you are all they need to be happy. That’s called love bombing. No bueno.
