"Heartstopper" Season Two Is Out Today – Here Are All The New Characters Joining The Cast

Get ready to be in your feels again.

Heartstopper season two has finally dropped on Netflix, and with it comes eight new episodes following Charlie, Nick, Tao, Elle, Tara, Darcy, and the rest of the gang.

Based on the popular graphic novel series of the same name, series one of the hit show absolutely blew up when it landed on Netflix in 2022. Ever since the show was renewed for a further two seasons in July last year, fans have been gagging for more (myself included).

Well, the series is now available to binge on Netflix, and features a host of familiar faces, plus some new ones as well.

Kit Connor returns as Nick Nelson and Joe Locke returns as Charlie Spring. Other returning cast members include William Gao (Tao), Yasmin Finney (Elle), Corinna Brown (Tara), Kizzy Edgell (Darcy), Tobie Donovan (Isaac), Sebastian Croft (Ben), Rhea Norwood (Imogen), Fisayo Akinade (Mr Ajayi), and Olivia Colman (Nick's mum, Sarah).

Here is every new character in season two of Heartstopper, plus who plays them, and a little bit about them.

Nima Taleghani as Mr. Farouk

Mr. Youssef Farouk comes ~screaming~ into season two as a teacher responsible for helping the year elevens knuckle down and take their GSCE exams. He is a science teacher at Truham who takes the school to Paris alongside Mr Ajayi (also pictured). Mr. Farouk may have a tough exterior, but he's very vulnerable underneath, as we discover as the season goes on.

Jack Barton as David Nelson

Nick's brother David returns from university in this season, and can often be found winding up his younger brother, Nick, who does not hold the greatest affection for him.

Thibault de Montalember as Stephane Nelson

Stephane is Nick and David's father who lives in Paris and does not keep in frequent contact with his sons. Nick wants to meet up with him when he visits the city, and hopes to introduce him to Charlie.

Where you might know Thibault from: All Quiet on the Western Front, The King, Call My Agent!

Leila Khan as Sahar Zahid

Sahar is a student at Harvey Greene Grammar School where Elle, Tara, and Darcy go. Sahar bonds with girls when they all decide to organise prom together, and quickly falls in with their social circle.

This is Leila's first on-screen role!

Bradley Riches as James McEwan

James is seemingly the only other gay kid at Truham, which sees him often romantically associated with Charlie through churlish gossip. In reality, James has eyes for another person at Truham...

This is Bradley's first on-screen role, although he appears uncredited in season one of Heartstopper and the movie 1917, according to his IMDB page.

Bel Priestley as Naomi Russell and Ash Self as Felix Britten

And finally, Naomi and Felix first appear at an open day Elle attends at a local art college she's interested in enrolling in. They all become friends quickly, which suits Elle but arousing feelings of jealously in Tao.

These are Bel and Ash's first on-screen roles, but I'm sure you'll recognise Bel from TikTok where she has over a million followers.

We also see more of Charlie's parents and sister Tori in this season, as well as Tao's mum and Elle's mum too!
