J.Lo Is Getting Oscar Buzz For "Hustlers" And She Got Emotional About It

She was robbed for "Selena," so we can't let her get robbed again!

If you didn't already know, Jennifer Lopez — along with Constance Wu, Cardi B, and a slew of other stars — is starring in a now-released film called Hustlers.

J.Lo — who who plays the ring leader — had only six weeks to physically prepare for the movie, and, as it turns out, it REALLY paid off.

Critics and early watchers are praising Lopez for her performance and are demanding she get the Oscar nom she so rightfully deserves.

"If there’s any justice, Jennifer Lopez will receive her first Oscar nomination for channeling the ringleader Ramona as Erin Brockovich by way of Matthew McConaughey in 'Magic Mike.'" #Hustlers and 13 other movies we're excited to see at #TIFF https://t.co/ggFQXd0Ajg

I saw #Hustlers weeks ago, and I’ve been dying to tell you: at one point of Jennifer Lopez’s first scene, my soul left my body.

Now that it’s world premiered at TIFF and the embargo has been lifted - I saw Hustlers last week and have been saying ever since that the film should be In Contention. Nominate it for Best Picture, Best Director, and give Jennifer Lopez an Oscar. Hustlers is SO FUCKING GOOD.

This then leads us to her recent appearance on the Today show's SiriusXM radio program, where she teared up when talking about the film's positive reviews.

Jennifer Lopez gets emotional when hearing about the Oscar buzz her performance on #Hustlers is getting: “I’ve just been working hard for so long”

Host Hoda Kotb started by reading J.Lo a great headline from the Hollywood Reporter.

And when the audience began to applaud, J.Lo said she'd shared the stunned reaction they seemed to have upon hearing the news.

She went on to say what it means to her, while fighting back tears.

Later, Lopez recounted how it went down when she first read all the reviews.

And when asked by Kotb, "What was it that struck you in that way?" Jennifer said:

Here's to hoping that J.Lo gets that Oscar nom she's always dreamed of!
