The Cast Of "Wynonna Earp" Celebrated FINALLY Returning For Season 4 And It's Amazing

"It was just a once in a lifetime thing to see this fandom come together with our positivity and creativity."

Recently, the cast of Wynonna Earp swung by San Diego Comic-Con for a very special panel and it was emotional.

Melanie Scrofano, Katherine Barrell, Chantel Riley, Greg Lawson, showrunner Emily Andras, and comic book creator Beau Smith gathered to celebrated the long-awaited return of the series.

Earlier this year, Wynonna Earp Season 4 was put on hold due to financial issues. The show being in limbo caused fans to come together and start the social media campaign #FightForWynonna.

San Diego Comic-Con marked the first gathering of the cast, crew, and fans since the announcement that the series would return.

Emily Andras joked that celebrating Season 4 is "even sweeter the second time around."

She continued, saying, "It was just a once in a lifetime thing to see this fandom come together with our positivity and creativity."

As a creative person, Emily said that you "hope against hope to make something that makes people feel like this and fight for it."

Emily concluded, saying that the hiatus really gave her a chance to remember "what makes the show so special to people and what people love about it."

The cast also took a moment to celebrate One Day At A Time, another important series that was saved from cancelation this year.

So, now that Wynonna Earp has been saved, it's time to start looking ahead to Season 4.

When we last left Wynonna Earp, the Earp curse was broken, Doc and Waverly were taken into the Garden of Eden, Valdez seemingly arrived, and Wynonna now has a flaming sword.

In terms of the curse ending, Melanie Scrofano said it will be interesting to see Wynonna without the burden of a curse.

She continued, saying, "I've lost the thing that made people take care of me, care about me, or ask me how I’m doing. Now I don’t have that, do they still care about me?"

Breaking the curse, or getting rid of the fundamental storyline for the series, is exciting and something Emily thinks makes the show unique.

Melanie also joked that she "legitimately forgot" that she now has to learn how to wield a sword, so training for that is going to be hysterical.

In terms of Valdez's arrival, comic book creator Beau Smith talked about possibly bringing this iconic character to the TV show and I am SO excited.

Beau described Valdez as a "thousand year old princess warrior from the Mayan era...In the comic books, the best way I think to describe her is Xena: Warrior Princess crossed with Spock from Star Trek."

Another Season 4 milestone fans are hoping to see is a wedding between Waverly and Nicole.

Katherine Barrell said that if she were to plan the wedding it would be "on The Homestead in the spring time with some beautiful wild flowers on the ground. Very intimate [and] personal with just our nearest and dearest."

So, there you have it! Wynonna Earp is officially coming back with Season 4 and we'll have plenty of amazing moments to freak out over soon.

Wynonna Earp will return with Season 4 in 2020 on SYFY.
