Hi, yes, hello, it's me. 2021 has become the year where all I do is yell about Marvel shows and movies, and there's no stopping anytime soon, because the first trailer for Marvel's What If...? series is here.
If you don't know, What If...? is inspired by a bunch of Marvel comics of the same name. The series will show us what happens if the Marvel Cinematic Universe unfolds in slightly different ways and how it changes some of our favorite heroes.
Like, we see how the MCU started, with Tony Stark riding with the military and taking some photos before an explosion...
...only this time, Tony is saved by Killmonger. So Tony never goes and builds the first Iron Man suit.
In this story, T'Challa is actually Star-Lord, and he works with Yondu and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
This will be Chadwick Boseman's final Marvel Cinematic Universe performance after his death in 2020.
Peggy Carter has taken the super soldier serum and fights as Captain Carter, aka this timeline's version of Captain America — but, you know, for the UK.
Meanwhile, Loki looks like the King of Asgard, while Spider-Man is being Spider-Man — although from the poster it looks like he's wearing Doctor Strange's cape — and Thor is just confused.
On a personal note, I also seemingly have to live through something happening to Wanda — she's fighting Okoye?! — and Vision trying to rip the Mind Stone out of his head again...so cool, cool, COOL.
Oh, and there are ZOMBIES! This is pulled directly from a run of Marvel comics called Marvel Zombies, and yes, I am screaming.
We also get our first glimpse at Uatu, The Watcher, who is voiced by Jeffrey Wright. In the comics, Uatu is one of the Watchers who observes the multiverse.
Alongside Jeffrey Wright and Chadwick Boseman, we'll hear the voices of a ton of our favorite MCU actors, like Hayley Atwell, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and many, many more.
