Christina Applegate Walked The SAG Awards Red Carpet With Her Daughter, After Saying This Is Likely Her "Last Awards Show As An Actor"
Christina Applegate, who is nominated for a 2023 SAG Award for Dead to Me, walked one of her first red carpets since her multiple sclerosis diagnosis alongside her daughter.
Christina Applegate is — and always will be — one of my favorite actors. From her iconic role in Married... with Children to her recent award-worthy turn as Jen Harding in Dead to Me, Christina always knows how to deliver a knockout performance.
While Christina has been outstanding in every season of the hit Netflix series, this third season was even more special.
For the final season of Dead to Me, Christina has been recognized with 2023 Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild nominations for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her work.
This is her sixth SAG nomination overall, and she stated in a interview with the Los Angeles Times earlier this year that this ceremony is always the most special for her.
"When you go to that particular event, it's all your people — you don't have anybody but the actors there," Christina said. "And despite the reputation actors have, everyone is really lovely."
While every SAG Awards she's attended has been special, Christina revealed that the 2023 ceremony will likely be her last awards show as an actor following her MS diagnosis.
That's all to say that Christina showed up to the 2023 SAG Awards red carpet in style — marking the first time she's walked a formal red carpet since her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
Just like the 2023 Critics Choice Awards, she attended alongside her daughter Sadie, who walked the carpet as well.
I'm obsessed with this velvet look.
And the bottom of Christina's cane appears to have the message, "FU MS."
Now, while Christina has said this could likely be her last awards show as an actor, Dead to Me Season 3 WILL be eligible for the 2023 Emmy Awards, so Christina could be attending another award show if she's nominated again.
I'm personally hoping Christina pulls out a surprise win tonight for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. I just think it would be the perfect way to celebrate her exceptional work in Dead to Me across all three (perfect) seasons.
