People with eating disorders may have certain food rituals at mealtime that make them feel safe. Don’t comment on how people eat. You never know what they are dealing with.
It’s something you live with forever. Being recovered from an eating disorder is like being recovered from any addiction, it’s always there but you have the tools to deal with it and make healthy choices most of the time. Sometimes you fall off the wagon and need some help.
If you are a woman who intends to bear children, please make sure your partner intends to help you. Ask them their expectations about night feeds, diaper changes, doctors appointments, etc. Will they agree that you need time alone? Will they agree to help with other household chores…Â
