    We recently asked members of the BuzzFeed Community to tell us about their favorite shows that got canceled after one or two seasons. Here are some of the series they believed were dropped wayyyy too soon:

    1. Pushing Daisies (2007-2009)

    Why it should still be around: "I still cry on the inside at how soon it was taken from us. The show is about a lonely pie baker who can bring the dead back to life, and uses his gift to help solve murders. The quirky characters, awesome dialogue, and fairytale-like narration makes a typical forensic/murder show super interesting and different from all the other shows. Plus, who doesn’t love Kristin Chenoweth as a love-stricken waitress pining about her crush through musical numbers while baking drug laced pies??" —judyl4faae2cc8

    2. The Mysteries of Laura (2014-2016)

    Why it should still be around: "It was about a smart, no-nonsense teenage girl and her young mother. It followed them both working at a Disney-like theme park, but it was awesome because it had a Latina lead. I loved the fact that her 30-something mom was still playing a park princess and there was a plot unfolding about her getting close with the park owners' hot son, who may or may not be her half-brother. It was so good and so underrated. If you haven't seen it, look it up, and be miserable with me about the fact that it ended on a cliffhanger."

    Why it should still be around: "It was so good! A group of strangers wake up in a ghost town with no escape. It frustratingly ended on a giant cliffhanger. Every now and then I think about that cliffhanger and get angry all over again."

    5. Bunheads (2012-2013)

    Why it should still be around: "Sutton Foster is so talented and was born to entertain! The show was quirky, funny, and heartfelt, and was finally a show that displayed ballet in a positive, but realistic, light. It never really concluded and I literally sent a petition to ABC Family to try and at least get a conclusion, but obviously they did not respond. I'm still bitter!     6. The Grinder (2015-2016)

    Why it should still be around: "Joss Whedon has had several shows canceled too soon. Tru Calling was SOOOO good, and was canceled after just 2 seasons (only 27 episodes). I mean, it starred Eliza Dushku as a young woman who took a job in a morgue working for Zach Galifianakis (he’s a sort of lovable nerd you just want to hug in this :). She gets asked for help by some dead people, and time rewinds, so that she can try to keep them from being murdered, etc. Jason Priestly plays a reaper, and he is constantly trying to stop her from succeeding. It also features a pre-Criminal Minds A.J. Cook. Anyone who likes iZombie will love this predecessor." —qpatti2

    Why it should still be around: "It was canceled after 2 seasons and I was so angry! This show was so incredibly diverse in its casting, and showed a loving relationship amongst its cast regardless of sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, social status, or decisions they made in their pasts. They're always there to help each other out, and when I found out the show was cancelled, I seriously cried my eyes out. I can't say enough about how amazing this show is! Thankfully Netflix commissioned a 2-hour special to wrap up some loose ends, so I'll have to be satisfied with that." –tashab216

    Why it should still be around: "It had Victoria Justice who was like super good with technology and her sister ended up being abducted so her technology skills were used to try to find her sister. To add to that, she was doing internet dating and she started to suspect that one of her dates was behind the kidnapping of her sister. I wish we got more episodes."

    Why it should still be around: "I’ve watched all of the episodes twice and I’m always sad when I remember that we’ll never know what happened to Lindsay, Nick, Daniel, Sam, etc.. The whole Lindsay and Kim going off to follow The Grateful Dead across the country just seems like such an abrupt ending to me."

    Why it should still be around: "I feel like if this show came out now it'd go further because Laura Dern is even more recognizable with Big Little Lies and Star Wars. Laura Dern made the show really dazzle, though, and I don't understand for the life of me why it didn't go on for at least 1 or 2 more seasons."

    Why it should still be around: "I will always believe it never got the shot it deserved. Charming characters who had such great chemistry (Analeigh Tipton and Jake McDorman are still together as a result of the show)! There were only in a few episodes, but I still find myself wishing there could have been more."

    Why it should still be around: "I watched that show from the start, and a Showtime exec jumped the gun and canceled it, yammering about slow storyline and ratings. He was extremely wrong, so much so, it led to a mass Showtime exodus, myself included. They had so much demand they tried to make it right by making a movie to wrap it up. They couldn't get all the cast to play, and rushed that too. I was so let down, I didn't subscribe again until Shameless."

    Why it should still be around: "It was a brilliant show that had a (far) less than brilliant marketing team. Produced by British and American production companies, it aired in the UK almost a month before it did in the US, so of course it was pirated and their entire American audience had watched it before the US premiere, effectively destroying the ratings.     Why it should still be around: "Although it did get kind of boring after the first season, it did seem like it was starting to pick up again in the season before it was canceled.     Why it should still be around: "It was literally the only show I would tune in for every week. I loved how much detail was in every episode and the talent of the amazing actors. They couldn't even wrap everything up nicely. They canceled it after one season with a million cliffhangers and unanswered questions and it was infuriating."

    Why it should still be around: "It was one of the few non-British period pieces on the channel and it was crazy inclusive. The black actors weren’t just slaves. There were POC characters born free, freed by union soldiers, contrabands, slaves who escaped to freedom, and even freed slaves that stayed with the families they served. And they were brave; committed to helping the union, or teaching other freed people skills, or with medical knowledge that helped save the lives of soldiers.

    And the white characters weren’t all villains or in line with the white savior trope. Some believed in an end to slavery, some just believed in preserving the Union while thinking little of the African race, Confederate sympathizers and spies, and so on.

    It had romance, intrigue, and tragedy. I honestly can’t do it justice. It’s so upsetting it was canceled." —karaf44faa0b75

    Why it should still be around: "It was the first show I ever religiously watched. The plot was amazing, and I waited for months for a second season. I cried when I found out it wasn't going to have a second season. At the age of ten, it was the most reliable thing in my life, until it floated away. Kind of like Sputnik. It was emotional, triumphant, and so empowering for women everywhere, so it was enjoyable even if you didn’t like baseball.     Why it should still be around: "This show made me realize how much I love Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham, and I love that they used their real life friendship to create a show about it.     Why it should still be around: "The story was just too good and it was incredibly meaningful to the real life cancer community. And then to just leave it with April saying she wanted to stay in Italy and not have the bone marrow transplant that could've saved her? NOOO! After the cancellation came down, the E.P. said they tried to get Freeform (ABC Family at the time) to give them something—a very abbreviated third season, a TV movie, anything—to wrap things up, but they refused. And he also said they'd planned on saving April if they'd gotten a third season, but nope! She'll forever be frozen in time, living out her last days in Rome. That cancellation is one of the many reasons I refuse to watch that network anymore."

    Why it should still be around: "It starred Jason Isaacs as a detective who gets into a car crash with his wife and son. He finds himself in two alternate worlds whenever he goes to sleep and wakes up. In one world his wife dies in the car crash but his son lives. In the other world his son dies in the crash and it's his wife who lives. The subplots in each world helps Isaacs with the other world, and while all this is going on he's trying to figure out which world is "real" and which one is a "dream". And the show even throws in the idea that maybe they're both real! It was SO good but then NBC canceled it after only one season, because apparently I was the only person who watched the show. I was so sad.

    Why it should still be around: "This show was the best. It is so underrated and I was so bummed out when I found out it was canceled. Not only was the show hilarious, but it actually taught lessons and was relatable. The storyline was so unique and the characters were amazing. For people who haven’t seen it, it’s basically about clones of popular people (Abe Lincoln, JFK, Cleopatra, Joan of Ark, and Gandhi), who attend high school together.     Why it should still be around: "I'm pretty sure me and this other girl in my class were the only ones who ever watched it, but it was pretty good! There are not enough shows about witches. It reminded me of Sabrina and Harry Potter, and just felt kind of 90s and nostalgic, even though it took place in the present.

    It was based on a book series by the same author as Vampire Diaries. I read the books after I started watching the show, and they were really, REALLY different. I think the main problem with the show is it tried to do WAY too much in the first season...like there were 3 separate villains by the end of the season/series finale, where-as the books introduced them gradually. Also they kind of ruined the main evil object." —izabellad

    Why it should still be around: "It had an amazing cast, beautiful wardrobe, and stunning scenery. Also, the story itself is set during the aftermath of Romeo and Juliet, which was so good.     Why it should still be around: "It was canceled after ending season 2 on the biggest cliffhanger ever. It had such good characters (especially badass females) and extremely interesting and detailed plot lines. I will testify to this day it was the best show of all time on Cartoon Network. However, last year the creators announced that they were making a season 3, so thank God for that!"

    Why it should still be around: "It delivered looks and storylines I haven't seen in other tv shows. Characters were diverse and not just divided by "good" or "bad."     Why it should still be around: "They canceled the show so suddenly, the series finale was the group basically preventing the death of a large crowd of people. So many questions were left unanswered, like do the pendants still work? Or why didn’t Aaron save Cynthia?     Why it should still be around: "It had such a rabid fan base they actually got it back for an unexpected (and shortened) second season. Although I could never find confirmation, it seemed loosely based on "Alas Babylon" by Pat Frank and it really captured the zeitgeist of what 21st century, post-Cold War nuclear fear felt like and how society would carry on afterwards.

    It was before its time, if the success of The Walking Dead is any indication (which has a similar plot arc and premiered 4 years after Jericho). It even starred Lennie James in a similar role to his role in The Walking Dead.

    I think the series still carries on in graphic novel form, but nothing will ever top that first amazing season on CBS." —kluttsjd

    Why it should still be around: "The second season could have been two or three seasons' worth of material! But HBO and BBC couldn't afford to keep the show going, so the second half of the second season had huge plot dumps. Great show and it deserved better. But I guess we can say that the greatest thing to come out of it was that HBO and BBC learned how to budget a big show like that better when they made Game of Thrones.
