    4. A handheld vacuum to suck up pet hair like a pro when you only have a few minutes to clean. It has a special rubber nozzle that picks up fur with ease, especially on hard-to-vacuum areas like stairs. There's no bag, so simply pop off the canister when you're done vacuuming and dump the contents in the trash.

    amazon.com

Promising review: "Don't walk...run to your computer and buy one of these! This little vacuum is so powerful. I am really impressed. It's easy to use and fast — way easier than hooking up attachments to my upright or canister vacuum. They are so awkward to work with compared to this little vacuum. It has a very long cord, which I really appreciate. The rubbery nozzle with the little knobs on it is so effective to help loosen the hair so it can be sucked up by the vacuum. It also has another tool that will allow you to pick up larger loose debris. It's very satisfying to see how much junk you're vacuuming up — gives you that sense of accomplishment we all need to feel inclined to vacuum at all." —ozmoore

Get it on Amazon for $47.04.

Promising review: "I have two cats (ages 16 and 8), one dog, a 5-year-old kid, and several other dogs on occasion (I pet sit and board dogs). I have needed to rent a carpet cleaner at least twice a year since I can remember. No longer! The SpotBot has revolutionized cleaning in our household. It is ridiculously easy and fast! The best part is that I barely have to touch anything gross anymore. I always pick up the larger chunks first, but I let the SpotBot do the rest and all I have to do is follow-it up with a good dump and rinse. A single spot takes less than five minutes to clean depending on the setting used and your competency (again, super easy to set up and use). I've had good experience on the stairs and the upholstery using the wand as well." —Rainbow Chicken

It's a must have if you have shedding doggos." —Emily Bragg

Promising review: "Unbeknownst to us, our senior cat had been peeing on two brand-new large shag area rugs. The first one I gave up trying to clean and purchased a new one. I just realized last week she has been peeing on another shag rug and I started crying. It’s the worst smell ever! I can’t keep purchasing new rugs until she dies. After scouring Google, this product kept being mentioned as the best enzyme cleaner, which I never knew was a thing. My order arrived at 6 p.m. today and we went right to work. By 6:30 I was almost in tears, the smell was gone! The other rug I gave up on, I threw in the garage intending to try and power wash it in the spring to maybe salvage as a basement rug. But now I’m bringing it in the house to treat and put back into a bedroom. I can’t believe how well it works! I can’t believe how fast it works! I can’t believe how good it smells and I am so thankful for this product!" —J. A. Merryweather

Reviewer photo of a black pillow covered in white dog hair and you can clearly see which side they brushed with the fur remover because all the dog hair is gone in that section
    amazon.com

Promising review: "This thing is aahhhh-mazing! I’ve had several kinds of cat hair removers — adhesive strips, sticky rollers, rubber nubby gloves. Nothing else works as well and as quickly. Easy to clean out too. I bought one hand held and a bigger one on a long handle for carpet and area rugs. Love them! They even clean the hair off the stupid red velvet drapes that came with the house when we bought it." —M. Bauer

    10. A Scrubbing Bubbles toilet cleaning stamp to polish your toilet without you ever having to touch a dirty toilet brush. With each flush, the stamp releases the cleaning gel, which foams and cleans your toilet.

Scrubbing Bubbles / youtube.com, Scrubbing Bubbles

Before: a dirty shower floor; after: the clean shower floor
    Amazon

Promising review: "We cannot BEGIN to tell you what a lifesaver this is! We have two old fiberglass tubs with vinyl shower enclosures that no matter what amount of scrubbing we have done with everything from bleach to cleanser to vinegar and baking soda would NOT come clean. After I took my shower last night, I sprayed down the tub and walls. Within minutes, all the built-up water deposits and dirt and grime began to melt away in front of my eyes. I left it on overnight, and when I got up this morning, it did not look like the same tub and shower. This product is a godsend, especially for old folks like us who have difficulty getting down on our hands and knees and scrubbing anything. More importantly, it performs as advertised. We plan on using it as part of our weekly cleanup routine, in addition to purchasing the Wet and Forget Mold and Mildew Remover for use on the vinyl siding of our house. This is truly an overnight sensation!" —Amazon Customer

Pardo Naturals is a Black-owned and woman-owned small business helmed by Rita Pardo, a mom who was looking for natural hair, body, and home products that wouldn't irritate her daughter's severe eczema.

For all the folks who don't enjoy cleaning the toilet — myself included — these dissolving tablets make quick work of a grimy bowl. The tablets are a little hard to dislodge from the plastic container (although that does make me feel confident that they're secure during transit and won't break; mine all arrived intact!), but once you get one out, you drop it in the toilet and let it do its thing. It'll start fizzing — just like a bath bomb — loosening any stains and streaks in 10 minutes so they come away with a light brushing. I never let the toilet get too bad (and usually it takes awhile for me to notice any buildup since there are only two people in the apartment), so I can't vouch for them if you have really set-in hard water stains or haven't cleaned the commode in six months. But if you're looking to ditch the harsh cleansers in your toilet cleaning routine, this is a great addition to your lineup.

Get six tablets from Pardo Naturals for $8.99 (available in seven scents).

    15. A pumice cleaning stone for powering through tough rust, lime, and calcium streaks you have to explain to your S.O. are not poop stains — you swear! Promising review: "I have very hard water that leaves hard-water buildup and nasty stains. It’s embarrassing to have guests over because the toilets are so gross! I have tried so many products and cleaning solutions — from natural essential oils to harsh chemicals so strong I was lightheaded for the rest of the day. Well, I tried out this pumice stone after reading about it in a BuzzFeed article, and honestly the hype is real! It does take some elbow grease, but the after picture is from only 20 minutes of scrubbing, light enough that I didn’t break a sweat! The stone does get used up, but I think this one should last me a couple of years at least. So if you have embarrassing toilets, try this!" —Stephanie Ray

Promising review: "I bought this to help rehab a 20-year-old solid cherry china cabinet and hutch. Over the years, we've used various lemon oils and mineral oils in an effort to protect and mellow the natural finish of the piece, but in my experience those oil-based liquids don't last very long and don't give much protection. This stuff, on the other hand, worked almost like magic in comparison. It applied easily and gives a beautiful darkened finish to the wood. The beeswax helps to lock in the oil and (so far at least) lends decent protection against incidental spills and abuse. We've gotten a lot of compliments over the past month since I applied it, and it still looks fresh and new. Highly recommended." —J. Gitzlaff

Get it from Amazon for $8.98.

    20. A pack of foaming garbage disposal cleaners that'll deodorize your sink ASAP, because if you have to smell last week's rotting veggie peels for one more minute you just might scream.

    21. A grooming glove for satisfying your fur baby's endless desire for some rubbies as well as your desire to not live in a house that's covered in dog fur. It's great option for loosening fur before it ends up covering the couch, especially if your dog or cat goes running at the sight of a brush.

The grooming glove with silicone nodules, full of hair held in front of a French bulldog
    AnaMaria Glavan / BuzzFeed

My colleague AnaMaria Glavan swears by this thing. In her own words:

"The glove is super comfortable and using it couldn’t be more foolproof: just put it on and run your hands through your pet’s fur. That’s it! The silicone grooves pick up so much fur with ease. Like, my dog looks close to hairless. HOW is he shedding so much!?!? After a few runs, I found that I would have to remove fur from the glove before continuing (you can pick up the fur with your other hand or run the glove under some water — either works) but it’s no biggie. The silicone actually makes it really easy to keep this clean. We got Rockie when he was 5 and he’d been riddled with skin issues and allergies, so I was pretty nervous to use anything that could potentially aggravate his conditions. However! Not only does this *not* bother his skin, but he…loves this. A lot. He starts snoring after exactly two run-throughs on his back. Also, his coat looks SO shiny after each use! TL;DR: this is one of those inexpensive add-ons that any pet owner should have on hand."

Get it from Amazon for $7.99+ (available in three colors).

    22. A speedy oven cleaner to de-gunk drippings from your last five years' worth of meals. It can power through baked-on crud, so all you have to do is wipe it clean.

Promising review: "This oven cleaner works really well. I cleaned my oven that had some terrible food spills and the oven ended up spotless. This does not have a strong overpowering odor like other oven cleaners and breaks down grease really fast." —Nia K.

Get it from Amazon for $6.88.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "I absolutely love these! I kind of bought them as a joke. I hate wearing socks, shoes, or slippers, but I also HATE dirty feet. These were the answer I was looking for! They are lightweight on my feet...hardly notice I'm wearing them, and by golly they pick up the dust and dirt that our dog leaves behind! They also wash very nicely. We always wish in Tide and these looked brand new after being washed. I'm very pleased with my purchase!" —Tim S.

Promising review: "The words won't do it justice. I had this little bottle for over a year before I finally used it. What a mistake! I should've used it immediately! We have a small leak in our shower, which leads to a lot of built-up mold and mildew. I had tried everything else — commercial cleaners, even — and nothing touched it. Then I came across the little bottle I had bought over a year earlier and had pushed to the back of the cabinet, and I thought, 'What have I got to lose?' IT CLEANED ALL THE BLACK GUNK OUT OF MY SHOWER! I can't say enough good about it. I will buy more and keep some on hand, at least until we can get this leak fixed. What a lifesaver." —REMayRicks

    25. A two-in-one Hoover carpet cleaner because you need your vacuum to do the hard work — and do it fast! — of sucking up dirt, dust, and pet hair *and* steaming your carpets. It's time to reclaim your weekends instead of spending the whole day vacuuming, then steaming, then waiting for everything to dry.

    amazon.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "I love everything about the Hoover Smartwash Automatic Carpet cleaner! With adopting our daughter's 16-year-old cat recently, we forgot what problems we used to have with our older cats; not a lot of fun at times. Since we have had the old boy it has been fun, except when he has hairballs, and then the real fun starts! We received our new Hoover shampooer about two weeks ago. So simple to operate, and the carpets dry exceptionally fast. Don't be lazy and do the final rinse with clean water as suggested. The touch button 'full time' dry feature allows you to go back and forth in the dry mode and ALL the excess water comes up like a charm. No leakage, very fast-cleaning, and exceptional suction! I didn't need to pre-spot anything. A great machine!!!" —Peter E. von Elten

Promising review: "After reading the newspaper, I desperately need just one dang thing I can fix in this world! But seriously, it's the best stainless cleaner I've ever used. It's quick, smells great and the finish is perfect. It resists finger prints (and paw prints) for days. It was also a great idea they had to include the microfiber cleaning cloth, as it does an excellent job as well. I probably wouldn't have thought of that. I plan to give these as gifts. Pretty funny!" —Designer Mom

Get a bottle on Amazon for $13.45.

    27. A cast-iron scrubber, which is just a piece of chainmail for lifting leftover food grit — not the pan's seasoning. This'll save you a heck of a lot of time now that you're not trying to scrub away stubborn stains with a fragile sponge.

    amazon.com

Because this scrubber is metal, you should avoid using it on nonstick pans as it can scratch and damage the surface.

Promising review: "I love the product. I wish I had known about it when I first got my cast-iron skillet over a year ago. It is really easy to use and did a great job getting the crud off of the skillet without stripping the seasoning away and it was fast. I find myself using my cast-iron more frequently since purchasing this product because I no longer dread the cleanup process. If you have cast-iron cookware then you need one of these babies.
