Ashley Graham Talked About How Unrealistic The "Postpartum Snapback" Is

    "It's an unattainable reality."

It's been one year since Ashley Graham welcomed her first child, Isaac Menelik Giovanni Ervin, with her husband Justin Ervin — and she has embraced her postpartum body in the process.

The model isn't measuring her postpartum self against her pre-pregnant self, and this should definitely be the norm.

"I think the postpartum snapback is really BS," she recently told E! News, which a lot of other moms — including myself — can relate to.

"I think it's an unattainable reality for most women and it's been an unattainable reality for myself," she added.

Graham has been normalizing the postpartum journey over the past 12 months, including the pregnancy stretch marks, the diapers, and getting back into sex.

But even she has days that are harder than others to love herself. She has a tip for dealing with them: "For me, it's all about words and affirmation," she shared. "I know that my words have so much power over my life and my future that I'm very careful with how I use them."

Between this and the self-care routine Lizzo recently shared (which involves treating your belly with kindness and talking to it daily), I know how I'll be practicing self-love going forward.
