21 Then And Now Photos Of Famous Heartthrobs From The 2010s Vs. What They're Up To Now In 2023

With Josh Hutcherson, Dylan O'Brien, Logan Lerman, and Theo James back in the limelight, it's truly the resurgence of the dystopian movie hunk.

Earlier this week, a new photo of Josh Hutcherson popped up on Instagram, and fans could not contain themselves when they learned that their Hunger Games fave was absolutely thriving in 2023.

Josh notably does not update his own IG account, so this was an absolute treat for the fans who haven't seen him in years. He's also set to make his grand return to the big screen with the movie Five Nights at Freddy's, which comes out in theaters Oct. 27.

And it made me wonder, what have all of our other 2010s crushes been up to? So, here's a life update on 21 of those guys:

1. First, here's Zac Efron in 2010:

Then: He just finished up his High School Musical era and was venturing toward more adult roles in movies like Charlie St. Cloud, The Lucky One, and Neighbors.

What he's up to now: He's still acting and received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. He also starred in and produced his own docuseries Down to Earth With Zac Efron where he travels around the world and learns about more sustainable ways of living. Most recently, he's starring as pro wrestler Kevin Von Erich in the A24 movie The Iron Claw.  

2. Here's Dave Franco in 2010:

Then: He was appearing in movies like Charlie St. Cloud, Neighbors, 21 Jump Street, and Warm Bodies.

What he's up to now: He's continued acting and branched out into directing with 2020's The Rental as his directorial debut. He also directed the 2023 movie Somebody I Used to Know. He's been married to Alison Brie since 2017 and has collaborated on several projects with her. 

3. Here's Dylan O'Brien in 2012:

Then: He starred as Thomas in the Maze Runner movies and played Stiles Stilinski on Teen Wolf.

What he's up to now: He's starred in movies like Not Okay and The Outfit, and appeared on TV shows like The Other Two and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He notably starred in Taylor Swift's All Too Well short film alongside Sadie Sink.

What he's up to now: He returned for Teen Wolf: The Movie and has lent his voice to the character Tony Toretto in Fast & Furious Spy Racers. He also was a founding member of the pop punk band, Five North, and with the band, he released an EP called Scumbag. Earlier this month, he married indie musician Phem. 

5. Here's Logan Lerman in 2010:

Then: He starred in the Percy Jackson movie franchise and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

What he's up to now: He starred in the Amazon Prime series Hunters and had a supporting role in the 2022 movie Bullet Train. In addition to acting, he's begun producing movies with his business partner Jonathan Schwartz and together they've worked on films like Rothko, Press Play, and Skincare. He's also been dating his girlfriend, Ana Corrigan, since 2020. 

6. Here's Theo James in 2013:

Then: He starred in the Divergent movies along with the fourth and fifth installments of the Underworld franchise.

What he's up to now: He starred in Season 2 of The White Lotus, a role that he received critical acclaim for and an Emmy Award nomination. He also starred in the TV adaptation of The Time Traveler's Wife alongside Rose Leslie.

7. Here's Robert Pattinson in 2010:

Then: He was starring as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies. He also began taking on more adult roles in movies like Remember Me, Water for Elephants, Cosmopolis, and Good Time.

What he's up to now: He starred as Bruce Wayne in The Batman and is planning to continue starring in the sequels. He's also been in movies like Tenet, The Lighthouse, The King, and The Devil All the Time. He's been quietly dating Suki Waterhouse for about five years. 

8. Here's Michael B. Jordan in 2010:

Then: He played Vince Howard on Friday Night Lights and became a recurring cast member on Parenthood. He also went on to star in the Creed movies.

What he's up to now: He's continued to play Adonis Creed in the Creed movies and even directed the third movie in the franchise. He also joined the MCU and played Killmonger in Black Panther. Aside from acting, he has stepped into a producing role for many movies and TV shows like Raising Dion, Fahrenheit 451, Just Mercy, and Without Remorse. He's currently working on the sequel to I Am Legend with Will Smith, who starred in the original movie. 

9. Here's Taylor Lautner in 2010:

What he's up to now: He's continued to act in TV shows and movies but most notably came back into the public eye earlier this year when he appeared in Taylor Swift's music video for her song "I Can See You." He's also married to Tay Lautner.

Then: He played Caleb Rivers on Pretty Little Liars and its spin-off, Ravenswood.

What he's up to now: He continued acting and most notably starred on the series Roswell, New Mexico. He also publicly came out as bisexual in an interview and explained that it wasn't until the end of his stint on PLL that he allowed himself to own his identity.

What he's up to now: He went on to star in the series V Wars and also served as an executive producer. He also produced a documentary called Kiss the Ground, which focuses on the regenerative agriculture movement. He's been married to Nikki Reed since 2015 and they have two children together. Ian has kept in touch with his TVD castmate and onscreen brother, Paul Wesley, and together they have a bourbon company called Brother's Bond.

What he's up to now: He currently stars on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as James T. Kirk. He also began directing and has worked on episodes of shows like Shadowhunters and Roswell, New Mexico. Additionally, he's a co-founder of Brother's Bond alongside Ian Somerhalder and he does some iconic Q&As on his Instagram close friends list.

He's been nominated for nine Grammy Awards and has won three so far. He also made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk and has since acted in Don't Worry Darling and My Policeman.

What he's up to now: He's still a member of the Jonas Brothers and has been steadily releasing music with the band since they reunited in 2019. He's been married to Priyanka Chopra since 2018 and they have one daughter together.

He also joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building in Season 3 and plays the love interest to Selena Gomez's character. He also made his off-Broadway debut in the play Take Me Out, which he earned a Tony Award nomination for.

He also did a brief stint starring in the off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors. He participated in the Spring Awakening 15-year reunion show and appeared in the documentary about the experience, Spring Awakening: Those You've Known. He currently stars on the CBS series So Help Me Todd.
