Which Asian Or Pacific Islander TV And Movie Characters Made You Feel Seen?

Manny from Degrassi will forever be my Filipina icon.

Growing up as a Filipino, I didn't have a lot of characters I could see myself in as a kid. In more recent years, however, there's been an increase in AAPI representation in movies and TV, and it's great!

Some Southeast Asian characters who make me feel seen are Manny from Degrassi: The Next Generation, Ned from the Spider-Man movies, and Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon.

So, we want to know — which AAPI characters made YOU feel seen?

Maybe you're Pacific Islander and felt represented by Moana because it was so great to finally see a Disney princess with the same culture as you.

Perhaps you fell in love with Kate Sharma in Season 2 of Bridgerton and loved how the show incorporated her Indian culture into her character.

Or maybe you absolutely loved getting to see Simu Liu play an amazing Asian superhero in Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Maybe he's even your favorite Marvel character now!

Tell us which AAPI character from TV or movies made you feel seen and WHY you love them! Your response could be featured in a future BuzzFeed Community post.
